Another new pub coming to Ecclesall Road - The Portland House

I liked Nightingale IPA. Let me put it this way, I've had far worse beers made with fashionable hops.

The arbiter of taste has spoken. There is nothing more to say.

Looks like this place has not succeeded and they are looking for a new buyer.

That`s a shame. I liked it inside mostly but not really somewhere I`d head to very often.

Looking at the eye wateringly high business rates and rent i can't see anyone else opening it as a bar.

Shame the Welbeck beer was always spot on when I popped in.

The Portland has been taken on by someone else. A chap called Minty. We popped in the other night for a couple of pints and were given some very nice complimentary mince pies. Seemed quite busy with a good atmosphere.

Good luck to them, will be happy if they can make a go of it and sell some good beers.

We also popped across the road to the new Outlaw bar which has a Country Club sign above the window. Was a bit different but the choice of beers wasn't great...

Best of luck to the Portland House opening again - The Cowboy bar sounds good - has anyone else been in? Do you have to go in a cowboy fancy dress or wear spurs o r anything ? :D
