This could be the demise of the last proper drinking pub in town and the least expensive that sells proper beer, not the likes of Vicars dangly bits and nuns #### at £6 a pint

Used to go in the Brown Bear in the 1970's. Must admit every time I've passed the place it always seems busy.

It was not a Samuel Smith's pub in the 70s . It was operated by John Smith's Tadcaster Brewery. Would have been a very different ambience.

a pub with bugger all else to do but sup,no tv no juke box,no live music after over ten years its getting boring my local is empty on Saturday nights.

Not sure if there are two sentences here. Is this proper pub boring or your local with TVs etc boring? Some pubs in this city are getting things very right for their market i.e. they are packed and others I go in I just despair and wonder why they don;t see why it is empty.
