Watching porno at work – is it ever alright?

Recommended Posts

I don’t usually watch the news cos it’s boring and pointless but I saw it this morning by an accident and they were talking about some government man called Damien Green who some people reckon has been going on the porno websites on his laptop while he’s meant to have been doing policies and other political stuff. None of it is defo true tho. A woman was saying he should be sacked but some politicians were saying that it’s not been proven and to leave him alone. Got me thinking though – is it ever actually OK to watch that sort of thing at work? Personally I say “no”, unless it’s a laptop and your in a private place such as bogs. Even then you’d better turn the sound down lol!

I dont even go on facebook on my works mobile, even when connected to my home broadband.

Not many would be that daft, when it goes in for repair or technical issues, they could read your personal posts.

Would that not be an invasion of privacy though?? Sounds like something that could land them in alot of trouble.

You've sent a device in for repair, you've not given them carte blanche to rummage though your e-mails, documents and social media accounts??

I don't think he should be sacked, also it's really bad the police can come out and talk about legal stuff found on his computer. That seems far worse to me.

Also Nadine Dorries should be sacked, giving your password out is far worse watching porn

If you work at home the lines are blurred.

A YORKSHIRE councillor left the Labour party because of porn on his work PC.

Damien Green should resign, not because its illegal, but because its distracting the media from Brexit :loopy:

Unless you work in the sex industry I don't see how it is ever acceptable.

Watching the cup final would be as bad unless you are a sport worker.

If a Tesco shelf stacker was skiving watching porn he would be disciplined so surely Damian Green should have his feet held to the fire!

I gather this might be a lot to do with when the police raided Damien Green's office 9 years ago - which was illegal. There are particular rules about this, parliamentary procedures and the like, which were breached.

More to it than meets the eye..

Another thing I thought was this:

What if Damon was on his lunch break? Surely that's alright but just not when he's meant to be working.

Well to be fair he shouldn't be rummaging around the underbelly of the internet on a work computer whatever time of day it is.

Runs the risk of catching a virus or something.

and then selling the story to the papers, again not something they should be doing.
