Vax carpet cleaner: any good for upholstery, etc?

Been offered very good deal on Vax Carpet Cleaner(by Vax itself) I don't have very good carpets(landlord won't replace, etc) but would use it to clean sofa's upholstery, etc, are they any good for this, getting marks out, etc.

If it has the separate tool jobbie it'll be good (this thing)

Some of the lower models are just a push-along cleaner though and won't have that part.

Sometimes you need to pre-treat stains, the vanish powerfoam stuff is surprisingly good for that :thumbsup:
