R Kelly removed from Spotify for hateful conduct

Recommended Posts

............but not removed???

eh?

http://thehill.com/policy/technology/387077-spotify-removes-r-kelly-from-playlists-due-to-hateful-conduct-policy

so his musics been removed from editorial and playlist, discovery sections of the site, BUT NOT removed from spotify (obviously they would lose money?)

So how many other bands, artists should be removed in a similar move, i bet theres plenty on there that have "hateful conduct" who are still there, everybody thats hit a woman, had a fight even?

Posts (including the quote chain - sorry) have been removed. It is against forum rules to edit another posters quote to alter the meaning of it.

Any further instances of this and you may find your account suspended.

Wows, only one post in and an entire post chain removed! Is that a record?

Anyhow, in response to the OP. Doesn't surprise me, companies putting profit before morals. Any action taken is likely little more than a PR stunt (they want to be seen to be ethical, while in actual fact, they care more about profits).

Playing requests on the disco can be a bit risky if you aren't familiar with the lyrics ,been caught out one or twice, the kids nowadays don't even notice the swearing in modern pop music.

I understand Spotify's position. They're not going to stand in the way of people streaming R Kelly's music if they wish, but they are not going to promote his music themselves. This makes perfect sense as they don't censor any music that the musicians or companies have made a deal to play.

apparently they may now be removing their hateful conduct policy now as companies have moaned its unfairly targeting certain music and its also unfairly targeting some artists

Anyone watched the BBC programs?

Judging by those he needs more than boycotting.
