Halibut   12 #2 Posted September 26, 2018 Should forums be subject to censorship or should all differing views be allowed in debates?  Oh for goodness' sake not this again. Get with the programme. It's been done to death and we all know how goes.
 Share this content via...
Mister M Â Â 1,608 #3 Posted September 26, 2018 Once again, all views should be allowed. However, forum users shouldn't be abusive and should use reasoned argument. Not sure why this is in the Sheffield thread though....
 Share this content via...
Resident   1,185 #4 Posted September 26, 2018 Should forums be subject to censorship or should all differing views be allowed in debates?  No topic should be off-limits imo however when tackling sensitive or high emotive issues people go off the reservation and attack posters rather than contributing an opposing view or contradictory evidence.  Such topics often descend into chaos because of it. It would require very active moderation and punishments to offenders which is a lot of work, especially if the forum hosting the topic is volunteer run. Because of this you'll find that many topics get shut down when posted to prevent this from happening
 Share this content via...
mort   10 #5 Posted September 26, 2018 When you are legally and financially responsible for a forum then you can decided what the rules are. The forum owner has decided that certain things are not allowed on this forum and you agreed to those rules when you joined. If you are not happy with that then there are other forums out there where you may feel you fit in more.   Closing
 Share this content via...
