PastTime   10 #1 Posted March 16, 2011 Can anyone give me any information about how I can report a lady buying litters of dogs from puppy farms?  I've got the RSPCA, her local authority, dog's trust and Direct Gov site to report to but I'm wondering If I've left any out?  I'm going to town on this woman because she's a vile piece of work and has caused my family a lot of heartache, she's not accepting any responsibility for what she's done even though we've got vet reports and everything linking back to the stupid woman for not looking after them in the first place.  Can it be taken up with trading standards too?  In all honesty, my parent's saw a dog they said was mum to the pups but it very obviously wasn't, my dogs suffered immensely and totally unnecessary, Had she of told the truth to start with the poor dog would still be here but sadly due to her lies he spent weeks in a specialist vet and unfortunately his little body couldn't take any more. We've still got our girl who was clearly not the age she said she was, she had the same thing but thankfully she pulled through after a 3 week stay at a specialist vet, she's like a normal puppy now.  Both dogs had been through the wars and losing him was a way of keeping our girl because the vet could treat her knowing how the other little boy responded to certain things, such a horrible thing for a little dog to go through.  It's not about the money, it never has been, we've got a 5k bill totaling for both dogs and we've never once asked for money, we told her while he was ill anything that could save him that we should know and she lied continuously to us, We want this woman sorted out properly, through the proper channels, Sure we could follow her through the net and slander her because of what she's done but it won't solve anything. Gemima   10 #2 Posted March 16, 2011 If she is buying and selling litters from puppy farms or if she is indeed a puppy farmer herself unfortunately it is perfectly legal. You could go down the trading standards route if she is describing the dog as something it is not?. Expose her as much as you can to stop other people being duped.  If you go on this website. http://www.dogs-r-us.org/ (There is a wealth of info on puppy farming and exposing dodgy puppy dealers. They will also be able to help you and advise you on your campaign)  Sick puppies dying when bought from these awful dealers is so common and pet shops continue to get away with selling sick puppies.  I wish you luck in your quest and really hope you get some justice for you pooch. xx
 Share this content via...
PastTime   10 #3 Posted March 16, 2011 It's the fact she's advertised them as had something done when they clearly hadn't, the vet definitely confirmed this.. We're gunna do all we can to make it hell for her to sell any more and it's disgusting that she can get away with it to be honest.  As I said before it's not about the money, it's the fact shes caused us so much heartache over all this lying, if she had been truthful he would most likely be alive today, Thanks for the link, much appreciated.  Sorry also if I come across as being secretive or moody in any way, Its not intentional, it's such a sensitive subject and it's quite hard still to go over whats happened. Rainrescue   10 #6 Posted March 16, 2011 Any type of abuse of animals is sick, puppy farming one of the worst. However, most people don't see past the nice puppy that they buy - because they don't see the horror that goes on behind the scenes. Even you - as much as you are now aware of it all - are just at the tip of the iceburg. Again, it takes people like yourself to stick with it, shout, and make a noise, to stick up for those who are still in there - breeding with their last bit of energy - to produce puppies for these greedy horrible people.  If they are going to breed and make vast amounts of money out of their dogs, at the very least look after their work force. The poor creatures  Please - do all you can to help them, as I feel that you will.
 Share this content via...

medusa   16 #8 Posted March 17, 2011 I wish you all success in getting this puppy farm closed down ad the owner prosecuted under the Animal Welfare Act, but as previously said, please don't name them here as that would make the whole thread get removed. Meter Man   15 #9 Posted March 17, 2011 (edited) Unless this lady has actually described the pups in a fraudulent way I don`t think ,she is breaking any rules as such, unless you have proof that the pups she is selling are unfit for the purpose they were purchased for. Its really the puppy farm that wants reporting ( cut off her supply at source) . I am totally against puppy farms but whilst ever theres a need ,they will exist , if only people would give more rescue dogs a chance this would cut down on the need to breed dogs, There is far too many rescue dogs needing owners. I wish you luck Edited March 17, 2011 by Meter Man
 Share this content via...
Scozzie   10 #10 Posted March 17, 2011 I'll be happy to help investigate- if it means closing one down.
 Share this content via...
Cyclone   10 #11 Posted March 17, 2011 unfortunately, you cant name and shame on the SF, but you could tell us where they puppies were advertised, what location and what breed. we can probably work it out from there, and you wont get done for slander.  Getting 'done' would involve the woman suing (and it would be libel) and proving that the allegations were untrue. It's not something to worry about when you're telling the truth.
 Share this content via...
medusa   16 #12 Posted March 17, 2011 Getting 'done' would involve the woman suing (and it would be libel) and proving that the allegations were untrue. It's not something to worry about when you're telling the truth.  It's against forum rules because we can't prove who is telling the truth and who is posting maliciously- and we can't afford the legal bills that come with all of it.  Please don't just disagree with forum rules on this every time they are stated. The rule is put in place for good reasons and it isn't up for debate.
 Share this content via...
