Reliantrobin   10 #1 Posted August 12, 2017 Now the road has all been resurfaced and marked out people still don't understand the rules relating to the double white line system on the bend. Parking opposite a double white line system, even if one side is broken, is against the law and can carry a fine and points on your licence. People still park there and on the sunny days they park on both sides of the road narrowing the road resulting in passing cars having to break the law to pass. This is dangerous. If the council put double yellows down they wouldn't park but they don't need to due to the double white lines. It is only a matter of time before there will be an accident. Please do not park there but find somewhere else.
 Share this content via...
ivan edake   13 #2 Posted August 12, 2017 A couple of years since the coppers went there and booked the lot, there was a big outcry and umpteen people wrote to "The Star" accusing the police of wasting their time persecuting motorists instead of pursuing criminals. The police quite rightly defended their actions.I came back from Castleton this afternoon and had to negotiate the bend on the wrong side of the road because of this dangerous parking habit. It is the same every Sunday as well.It is time the cops payed another visit. Ducky1 Â Â 10 #4 Posted August 13, 2017 There is a car park further down Rivelin Valley Rd where the pond is, people can then walk right through to the park.
 Share this content via...
bullerboY Â Â 10 #5 Posted August 13, 2017 Better tell them to remove the disabled bay as well then as this is opposite the double white lines.
 Share this content via...
rollwithit   12 #6 Posted August 16, 2017 I was cycling down riverlin Valley Road yesterday and noticed a lot of cars parked in the white line. I'm sure this area is now a designated cycle lane and cars should park in the marked areas?  Anyone enlighten me?
 Share this content via...
