Pubs in Sheffield shutting down

Recommended Posts

There was that incident outside it I think - a young lad died when another lad punched him - think that has out to do with it?

I'm not sure what incident you're on about to be honest. I do remember the road closed by the police at christmas time though. I heard on the grapevine that the investors decided to retire and the doors haven't opened since. Shame really.

This one.

The place is ill-fated. The golf bar that preceded Alibi did not last long either.

Personally I would not go out drinking on New Years Eve now - far too dangerous with drink, punteres and taxi rip offs - no wonder all the bars are closing !

What a bizarre post.

A) The opening post is nothing to do with NYE

and

B) There are a number of good pubs opening nowadays. More will open if only the pubcos would die.

Well the Cherry Tree in Carterknowle was the latest to bite the dust :(. A landlord can put all their time and money into this place (which I know he did) but it'll never work when you've got the bigger companies that own the place constantly screwing over the landlords for their own gain.
