HarrietStar   10 #13 Posted October 18, 2004 "I used to go to No.1 a lot, the food definitely changes when it's different prices. And on Sunday its definitely below par - spaghetti hoops and sausage rolls are not good chinese food!"  I'd have to agree with that, they had chicken nuggets and chips once too A friend showed us jumbo instead, which we will try and compare, i have an inkling it will be better.  I think Jumbo is the one near the crucible? funkyukgal   11 #14 Posted October 19, 2004 yea jumbo is near crucibles.  both of them are really crap but thats my opinion...  If anyone ever goes down to London I highly recommend Aroma chinese restaurant in Woodgreen. its a buffet restaurant opens 7 days a week. The price aint bad and its got a tapenyakki section! theres aromatic duck or chicken during the weekdays which is a bonus  Ill stop waffling now!!Go and try it out for yourselves!! Don_Kiddick   11 #17 Posted March 26, 2005 JUMBO  went on Saturday for first time. Food (presentation, variety, taste, veggie option, freshness 10/10 Service 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Decor & layout 10/10 prices 11/10!! comfort 10/10 nearby parking 10/10   What ruined it for me was a smoker. Just one. Lit up & fumigated the whole restaurant & then left! Inconsiderate stards.  30% of customers had little kids too.
 Share this content via...

StarSparkle   10 #19 Posted March 26, 2005 Jumbo's is on George Street, just near the end of Chapel Walk.  I've only been there once (on a Thursday night a few weeks ago) but highly recommend it.  I thoroughly enjoyed it - the food was gorgeous, with plenty of variety including veggie options, and was a very reasonable price. It was something like #7.00 per person, and for the amount of food consumed, this was unbeatable value.  My only reservations were that there were a few too many people squashed in for my personal comfort level, and I did feel slightly like I was on a conveyor belt - in, eat, out - but the quality of the food made up for it.  I'm really looking forward to going again soon!  StarSparkle
 Share this content via...

Freddylee   10 #21 Posted March 27, 2005 yeah jumbo is great BUT isnt the food a bit greasy? thats just m,y observation another plus my asian mates found is that the Chicken is "halal" which means that they didnt have to just stick to the veggie options like at other places
 Share this content via...
zombiekillah   10 #22 Posted March 27, 2005 went to jumbo for first time yesterday , was excellent , really cheap , good quality food and nice atmosphere .... at no1 they let the food dry up , aren't half as friendly and its like eating in a school dinner hall , all you can hear is other ppl's voices echoing around ! Will not be visiting no1 again but definately going back to jumbo ) And even though jumbo sells chicken nuggets and chips , at least theyre chinese chicken nuggets ) v v tasty
 Share this content via...
