Charities and bicycles

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of fold up bicycles to get rid off. They will need a service but otherwise there is nothing wrong with them.

Does anyone know any charities that might want them and is willing to collect them? I emailed Recycle a couple of months ago and got nothing but ignorance back so there is no point in suggesting them im afraid.

TA :)

I'm not aware of any others I'm afraid. There used to be the Bike Project in Burngreave Cemetery Chapel but they moved out a good while ago, don't know if they went somewhere else. When I donated an old bike to Recycle it was fine and they were very grateful and their Bike Kitchen is also very good so I don't know what happened there.

Sell them on ebay, new folding cycles aren't cheap so you can probably get a bit for them. You can always donate the money to charity if you wish.

Recycle bikes in Heeley:

As I said ReCycle totally ignored the email I sent them so they are out of the picture. Also, they require you to drop them off and as I have no transport they need to be collected, again, according to the website something they dont do

How about Assist? Looks like they'll collect them too.
