  1. I can't believe we have't got an airport in a city this size.
  2. My shed was broken into a couple of years ago and my son saw the guy who was doing it and gave chase. They got away but my son recognized them and we gave the name to the police when they eventually came out but they were't interested. Another time someone got my credit card details and tried to order 2 large tvs. Luckily the manager of the store thought it was suspicious having two tvs delivered to London from someone in Sheffield. He contacted me and stopped the transaction. He gave me their address and 'phone number. The police didn't want to know saying the crime would have been committed against the credit card company and not me so I had no grounds to contact them. I said in that case if I saw someone about to get stabbed I shouldn't contact them because the crime wasn't against me. We also have a druggie on our street who has been arrested twice but is still openly selling stolen goods and nothing is been done. They are useless!
  3. Thanks everyone. Will have a look at "pensionwise" and "unbiased"
  4. In a few months I am 55.Due to a few job changes over the last 39 years I have 5 pensions (4 frozen.)To be honest I haven't a clue what they are all worth.I need a good pension impartial advisor that will give me good advice that will be in my interests not their own..I don't want one that will cost me an arm and a leg.Where should I look for a good one. Thanks in advance.
  5. Has anyone else noticed how often cars (and vans) are parked on the double yellow lines at the juction of Birley Spa Lane/Dyke Vale Road? It makes pulling out of Dyke Vale Road to go up Birley Spa Lane very dangerous. I saw a learner car trying to pull out on Thursday and there was a queue of us there for ages. Surely the police must drive up there sometimes. Any thoughts? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Birley+Spa+Ln+%26+Dyke+Vale+Rd,+Sheffield+S12+4FD,+UK/@53.3471812,-1.3818796,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x48799d04499077a7:0x8753ba22bbfec790!8m2!3d53.3471812!4d-1.3796909
  6. I used these a couple of times when I changed my mortgage, all done over the phone and completely free. Fantastic service. However they only do mortgages as far as I am aware. Can someone recommend some one for pensions?
  7. My son is buying a house and he may need a new boiler fitting. He knows the boiler he wants (Worcester Bosch) but will need it fitting. Any good honest plumber recommendations please.
  8. Around 400,000 people worked on getting Apollo 11 to the moon, yet not one of them has come forward to prove it was fake. If they did they would make a fortune. Even the Russians agree it happened. Funny that.
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40723581 Great news for anyone living in a flat or a terraced house, or a house with more than one car. Another government on the side of the motorist.
  10. We're thinking of having sliding doors fitted in front of our existing wardrobes( normal doors taken off) to give us more room. We want white high gloss finish. Can anyone recommend anyone who makes and fits bespoke sliding doors at a reasonable price. Thanks in advance.
  11. I use the empty lane every day, always indicate as the lanes merge and always get in the left lane no problem. If everyone used both lanes there would be less traffic at the parkway roundabout. That is how two lanes are meant to be used.
