  1. Thanks for the replies. No, I don't think the vet checked his anal glands. My husband said the vet seemed quite 'abrupt' almost like he was wasting her time, that's why he didn't question the piriton advice at the time or ask for dosage. I will try Pollenase, thank you. We were just worried about poisoning him!
  2. Hi, my 1yr old dog has been scratching his 'bits' for a few weeks & the area was looking a bit red, like a rash. we took him to the vets & she said it's not fleas (he's up to date with his advocate). She said it could be an allergic reaction to something. He's always either scratching or dragging his bits along the carpet. She gave us some fuciderm gel to put on him, but also told us to give him piriton as it could be an allegic reaction to something? My husband went to buy piriton but when he looked at the lable it says not for children under 6, so he's worried about giving it to our dog. He's a jackRussel/Pug x King Charles Cavalier. About 11 kg weight. The gel doesn't seem to be helping.
  3. Hi, my son bought sims 3 (new) off amazon a few weeks ago. When we tried to install it on the laptop it asked us to install origin -so we did. When we tried to install the game again it asks us to type in the code inside the case - which we did, it then directs us to the official sims site, where it asks us to input the code again to register which seems to work fine. But then when we try to play the game the origin screen pops up again - again asking to input the code, only to get a message saying this code has already been used!! We seem to keep going round in circles between the origin page & the sims page trying to install the game! Has any had the same issue? I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you.
  4. thanks for all the replies. We do intend to move him on to dry food eventually (mainly because my husband works for a cash & carry so can buy big bags of dry food cheap with his discount). But I think a diet of just dry food would be a bit boring for him? he is eating butches puppy tins & pedegree small bite mixer as that was what he was eating when we bought him.
  5. I think it depends on the situation. I play silly games with my 19 month old son and role play at home when it's just me & him; but at toddler groups or in any other public place (even with family) I feel awkward and embarassed. I'm a very shy person so don't feel comfortable around people anyway x
  6. Hi, our puppy, Toby is just over 4 months old. we feed him 3x a day. He has 1/3 of a can of butchers puppy & 2 handfulls of pedigree small bite mixer at each meal. (plus some treats during the day while training him, usually a bit of ham/sausage). He's a small dog, his mum is a jack russel x pug & dad a king charles cavalier. He seems constantly hungry though? He eats his food so quickly then sniffs round for more. If we leave the room with any food on the settee he's got it & wolfing it down within seconds. He also follows my toddler round waiting for him to drop a biscuit/breadstick ect. & again he's hoovered it up before I even have chance to pick it up! Also I've seen him eat his own poo a couple of times (although I have read this is normal for puppies). He has regular check ups at the vets for his injections & wormimg etc. & they weigh him each time & his weight is fine. I was just wondering if we need to start feeding him more? Or could he just be greedy & will eat more & more no matter how much we feed him? I would be grateful for any advice, Thanks x
  7. I spoke to a planning officer at the council, asking if it was a listed building when I found out about the plans to turn it into a mosque. He told me it's not a listed building, it's classed as 'a building of local importance' which they would like to see kept as it is, but they have no power to stop anyone knocking it down if they want to.
  8. there's a good group at Early Days childrens centre on Palgrave road in Parson Cross. It's called amazing babies & is for babies from birth up to 18months. I'm not sure if it's still on with all the cuts to childrens centres lately though as I haven't been for a few months. It was on Thursdays 1pm - 2.30pm.
  9. That sounds great, thanks. Do you know the phone number/website?
  10. Hi, my son is 17 months & we go to a couple. There's Beck toddlers on Mondays at 9.15am in the community centre next to Beck primary school. There's also one at Longley 4g centre on Wednesday mornings at 9.30am that's great if it's not too far from you x
  11. Hi, our puppy Toby is now almost 14 weeks old & had his second vaccinations 2 weeks ago so is ready to start going for walks, meeting other dogs etc. Are there any puppy training classes near Sheffield Lane Top that would be good to take him to? Not just for training but also for him to socialize with other dogs. Thanks x
  12. Does anyone know anywhere in Sheffield that would be open tonight that sells replacement glass for a wing mirror? The mirror fell out somewhere on the way home from work & we're meant to be driving to Peterborough tonight to see family over the weekend. I checked Halfords but they closed at 6pm. Thanks
  13. I saw the bus/car collision outside Hartley Brook school too on my way to pick my kids up. There were a lot of police there and I wondered if it was connected to the police around school. I thought at the time it was strange that the car had obviously been on the wrong side of the road to hit the front of the bus the way it did. I'm hoping the school might send a letter home tomorrow with some info for parents to stop all the 'gossip' as I think everyone wants to know what was going on
