  1. I don't think you can compare because the prices are changing all the time. At the moment prices are expensive. When the mines catch up with production and the weather improves the price will fall. The best time to buy rock salt is in the summer. It was only £99 for a bulk bag including delivery last summer when I bought some for family and friends. The site I found was http://rock-salt.biz/ and they are part of a bigger aggregate company. I'd buy loads to sell if I had anywhere to store it. Knowing my luck we'd have 5 years of mild winters!
  2. Some other Sheffield artwork I like is by Jonathan Wilkinson. Rather than being done in a comic book style they look more like an architect's plans. http://welivehere.co.uk/prints.html
  3. I would think bark and wood chippings would be available at Ecclesall Woods Sawmill http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/parks-woodlands--countryside/trees--woodlands/ecclesall-woods/sawmill-site-project
  4. The grey gravel comes in 10mm & 20mm and the buff gravel in 20mm In grey... http://www.decorativeaggregates.com/gravels_aggregates/ga080/Dove+Grey+Limestone+10mm.html In buff... http://www.decorativeaggregates.com/gravels_aggregates/ga140/Cotswold+Buff+20mm.html
  5. That link didn't work. I think you meant http://www.karndeanfitter.com/ From the websites contact page... call Mark Goodison on 07973 371902
  6. These plasterers offer damp proofing http://sheffieldplasterers.com/ It's probably a good idea to get advice from a few tradesmen/experts to see if you get the same story regarding a fix.
  7. I just said it wasn't switching on and he had a good idea what was wrong. I got a quote in the shop of about £30 I think it was. Best thing to do is say if it's going to be above a certain amount then you'd rather leave it.
  8. The tramlines festival is in a couple of weeks. We went last year and it was great. http://www.tramlines.org.uk/
  9. Slate chippings used as a mulch is probably better than gravel because they are flat pieces and help keep the moisture in the soil in the summer and frost out in the winter. It also limits the amount of weeds, using a weed prevention membrane too keeps it even more low maintenance. Slate chippings come in a few different colours too. Have a look here http://decorativeaggregates.com/slate.html for some pictures on how it looks as a mulch.
  10. Nova Electronics‎ 700-702 Attercliffe Rd, Sheffield, S9 3RP Tel: 0114 244 7257‎ They fixed a faulty portable LCD TV for me last year and it's been fine ever since. They came highly recommended and I'd use them again.
  11. Bothamley & Widdowson are Sheffield based plasterers. They do work for us and do an excellent job. Tel: 07923 579738
  12. Jim Connolly has done 4 Sheffield prints so far with another 2 to come for the full set. West End Picture Framing have got all 4 prints available in 2 sizes. They all look fantastic. I've got his Henderson's Relish print in my kitchen. It's next to my Richard Hawley limited edition Henderson's Relish bottle!
  13. MG Floors are Karndean fitters and are based in Sheffield. They also supply too. Try Googling them.
  14. Gravel or slate chippings look good and add a nice bit of colour to drives and paths. In fact slate would probably be better if you don't want it spilling onto the road because it's bigger. I think you can get it in blue, grey, plum/purple and green. Always lay a membrane down first though. Water drains through and it prevents weeds getting a hold. Just Google weed prevention membrane and slate chippings.
  15. Prints that have already been framed are available at:- West End Picture Framing, 259 Sharrow Vale Road, Sheffield, S11 8ZE Tel: 0114 267 6066 or you can call into Pete McKee's new gallery a few doors up:- A Month of Sundays, 356 Sharrow Vale Road, Sheffield, S11 8ZG
