  1. Hi Steve, Many thanks for your words of caution. You'd think that at 47 I'd have it sussed, but it doesn't always work out like that. One of my client's has been unable to find the right person for thier HR manager vacancy, as I installed all the staff benefits and offer a workplace financial clinic on a weekly basis, I feel well placed to move into the position. But on the otherhand, I am good at what I do and I have many client's and I enjoy working for them, I have been building up my business for 8 years (prior to that I worked for Insurance Cos) it would be a shame to let that go. Making the transition into a larger practise might help, because it's the feeling of isolation that gets me low. Having a team sounds like it would help, I'd like to be able to go away on holiday without worrying about what might need my attention. Ho hum! it could be midlife? but I have felt like this for a long time....
  2. Wow, loads to choose from. Thank you Sheffield Forum:)
  3. Hi Sheffield 8 is meadowhead/greenhill/woodseats area. If you know of any classes that wold be great. Thanks
  4. Hi I work in Financial Services and have done since leaving Uni in 1982. In order to stay in my current position I will need to complete a number of exams. I've been fed up for while and generally dissatisfied with the way the industry treats it's customers. I was thinking about retraining, maybe going into HR management, I'm 47 years old and have only ever been an IFA. What exams/courses are worth a look at before I make a leap of faith. Also if anyone has any ideas/experience of career change at my age it would be appreciated. Thanks A
  5. Thank you for all your replies. I didn't think that the shop in the market would still be there. Cricky I remember my mum buying the stuff for my 18th birthday party cake from there. I think I'll pay it a visit. A x
  6. Hi, Does anyone know of a Yoga class in the Sheffield 8 area prereably on Thursday or Monday evenings. I'd like to pay per class rather than having to stump up for any memberships, and as I've not really done Yoga before the class needs to cater for beginners. I can also consider Pilates or similar. Please let me know if you know of anything available. Many thanks A x
  7. Thank you for ll your suggestions. I'll have a look. A x
  8. Knit something you really like the look of. Then it won't get boring and you'll do a better job of it.
  9. I made my first hat last week. I used to knit when my babies were born, my youngest is now 21 so I thought I'd pick it up again. It's so relaxing and my feet thanked me so much for sitting down for a change. I found a really cool and trendy free pattern on the net and went for it. Bought a ball of wool from the market and I've still enought left to make some mittens, but I haven't found the right pattern yet. That's it I'm hooked and I hope you will be too. A x
