i agree with alot of what has been said in other posts and as a parent and a nursery nurse have seen things from both sides. i was lucky enough to have family members looking after my child until he was 2 when he went to a private nursery. it took him a while to settle and would just sit and cry in the corner, unfortunately for the staff he would not let them near him but came round on his own. now he absolutely loves it and has developed in all areas so much. unfortunately when visiting nurseries or childminders you only get to see a short part of the day and nobody can know how individual children will be on that day. leaving your child is a big thing and needs a lot of thinking about and i hope your daughter finds something that suits her and her child

hi Shef Fitness i think this is a fab idea as i joined fitness unlimited and go after taking my son to nursery but the class times do not fit in as i have to be back at 11.20 to pick him up so just go in the gym but a choice would be good

my friends daughter starts school in september and she was in the same situation. she visited both schools and found monteney to be more structured, calm and had more resources (computers etc) for the pupils where as ecclesfield had children wandering around which the headteacher commented on as they should have been in lessons and the classrooms were very noisey, she has chosen monteney but this is only one persons view from one visit, go and have a look around and see what you and your child thinks of them
