  1. Try Mick Briggs (Complete Building Services) on 07721587337. Been in business over 25 years and has plenty of extensions and one off spec houses in the Sheffield area.
  2. I can see how annoyed you are but let,s face it, in this where there is a blame there is a claim culture is it surprising he scarpered? He did pay £40 so not that selfish but now if I could get away with it I would. Not proud of it but it is the way society is. The times I had my car damaged in car parks and they have let me pay out of my hard earned wages for their damage. Now, if I ever damage a car or anything else and no one is looking I am off! The saving will help pay for the damage I have had to pay for in the past. Not proud to admit it but to many greedy selfish something for nothing people out there. I had a motorist knock my mirror off in March and I caught him. He was so sorry (although I had to chase him to stop) and he said get a new mirror and ring me, I will come round with the cash that day. So next day £90 later I ring him and guess what? No such number. But he had a sign written builders van and my fella when he finds it will be knocking his mirror off, fair enough? What goes around comes around. Hope you are ok and the £40 pays for the damage.
  3. Remember! Fat chicks can,t fly! As mentioned skimmed milk, eggs, rice, fish and loads of fruit and veg. Exercise and start slow by walking round the block and then a bit further as time goes by. No junk food at all and watch what you eat. I have done the above but joined a gym being the start of Winter (october). As I was told my weight would at first go up before coming down and now 6 months later 5kg lighter and fitter.
  4. It,s a road permit from the council and the skip company obtains it. I think it is about £10 + vat and lasts 14 days. I use Collins and they are a good company. 0114 2725808.
  5. Yes HB is paid 4 weeks in arrears and is usually paid direct to the tenant. it is then their responsibility to pass it onto the landlord. Most of course do with the odd ones that spend it and get into arrears. This gives HB claimants a bad name and is one of the reasons landlords avoid HB tenants which is unfortunate. A tenant can get it paid direct at the time of applying with a good eneough reason. For example they cannot handle debt, drug or drink addiction. mental issues. Gambling addict. Now if you find a landlord that will take HB but only on direct payment to them you could always suddenly have one of the above problems if you know what I mean?
  6. I have had Hornes do mine. They are on Abbeydale rd and Penistone Rd. Well satisfied with the price, quality and customer service. They are booked in to do me a office re-fit.
  7. Are you talking about Binsted Council flats or Binsted housing estate? I have relatives on both and both are happy on there with no problems. Binsted grove on the top half half can be a problem with parking spaces as cars only park on one side of the road and getting off the estate in the snow can be awkward but the Council has put an extra grit bin on the Grove which has made it easier this year. Also on the Grove and Avenue some living room windows are on street level not giving much privacy on one side of the road from people walking past. All in all though a much sought after estate with no through road so no heavy traffic, less crime and quite a few cul-de-sacs, great for kids safety.
  8. I have used Jeff. Nice man to deal with and turns up when he say he will.
  9. I was on the bottom end of Shirecliffe Road going towards Pitsmoor and didn't turn a wheel for 20 minutes. So turned around and went home. Took a days leave for it. Side roads had no feeders as they was turning around. I would like to know why nothing was moving? Roads was passable, just slush.
  10. This happened to a courier at Greenhill just before Christmas. He got the van back minus some parcels. You hear off break ins for the car keys but maybe this is going to happen more often with up market cars? People need to be more careful with there keys.
  11. yes, checked it and turned it off and on several times. The shower does not seem to have the pressure it once had and I have cleaned the shower head.
  12. I have had a water meter fitted recently and the cold water out of the taps do not seem to have the pressure they had before the meter was fitted. Is this normal?
  13. I cant see how landlords have put the cost of houses up? If I remember rightly it was panic buying and easy credit that put the prices up plus the greedy estate agents who encouraged it. I work with two people who rent their houses out. One has moved in with her partner and rents her home out in case she needs to move back and the other couldn't sell so fortunately managed to buy another and rent her old home out until the market picks up. I can't see how being in a business or even a bit of a sideline business in renting property out makes you a parasite. More fool the tenants for paying it, if people wasn't prepared to pay the rent then that would create competition and rents would drop. I do see the point about the HB rates being too high though, this can only maintain high rents. If you can't get working tenants to pay the rent then bung some HB people in. Everyones a winner!
  14. My son recently passed his test and I have 3 months insurance remaining on my 130hp Mondeo TDCI. They charged him £85 to be added on. He is 25 though. A 20 year old would cost more. My husband added him to our Group 2 Corsa with six months remaining for £129.00. The insurance co is LV. £400 excess on both
  15. I had my pre driving lessons in Brook Shaw retail estate car park. It is the one opposite the Kelham Island Tavern. The lower one is council owned but the upper one is private. Ideal for learning how to set off, clutch control, 3 point turns. There is some cones if you look so you can stimulate parked cars etc.
