  1. So i'm having a few damp spots on the ceilings of the upper rooms in my house. Its a mid terrace, two up, two down. The roof is the original as far as i'm aware, there's no felt etc, just timbers and tiles. At this stage i'm interested to get a rough idea of a price per sq mt or sq ft. And should i get both sides done, or just the front. As the gutters are timber, i'd think they'd need re-doing too. Anyone had this work done recently that could give me an idea of cost, or any contractors out there that will give me a price per unit. I'm currently budgetting for various items around the house and am intereseted to see if i will need loans etc, and what task should work as priority. (My neighbours have either forgotten the cost, or bought the house with the roof re-done so they dont have a guide for me) thanks Tao
  2. Thanks a lot guys. Gives me an idea of total costs etc etc now...... :o:o
  3. I posted the attached thread earlier this week. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=594125 unfortunately due to work commitments i've been limited to being able to get all the repliers round for quotes, i hope this will change next week, and thank you for your interest. I was talking to a friend who knows a little about wires and he came to look at the job. He said that i should really upgrade my consumer unit - RCD borad and install MCB. I asked him waht cost that would be and he siad when he/neighbour had it done its was around £300. Does this sound about right price? Or where they being led down a garden path? FYI Its a mid terrace, two up two down house. Thanks
  4. Thanks all, i've started the ball rolling, will ring more once i have initial quote.
  5. I need some new double sockets wiring into my cellar. My fuse box is down there with a spare - ideally this is where i'd like to go from, or if thats not possible then i already have a double socket that has two wires into it. Anyone recomend a good, local wires person? i work long hours during the week, so would have to be able visit after 8pm at night or at weekends. thanks
