  1. Any links etc to avoid a fatality in our house?
  2. Certainly am, and reminiscing/arguing with the missus how high it was
  3. Any idea of the height of the 'top splash'?
  4. The simple answer is no, its closed down again :-(
  5. Another vote for the bloke on Sharrowvale Road. Bang opposite Hickmott Road (the road that runs from Nonnas on Ecclesall Road to Sharrowvale Road), adjacent to Mann's Fishmongers and the Mediterranean Restaurant. Very well priced, and of decent quality. I have been passed today and he wasn't there, but it is still November!
  6. Thanks for your replies. I'll try them next week and report back ---------- Post added 05-12-2012 at 09:43 ---------- I picked 2 pairs of trousers up yesterday that they shortened for me. I am very impressed with both the quality of work and the price (£12 inc 25% discount with flyer). One word of warning, they don't accept card payments.
  7. Heard the same today. Apparently plans for some gay 'superclub' type of venue
  8. There's a new one called Alter on Ecclesall Rd. Not sure what they are like though - had a leaflet thru the letterbox. Passed the shop yesterday and it certainly looks the part
  9. Bear in mind which of the Sheffield football clubs are at home next Saturday
  10. A decent fishmonger should be able to order exactly what you require. Try Mann's on Sharrowvale Road
  11. I understand your frustration after being held up in it myself, but like you said, unfortunately it has to be done off-peak. Prior notice would maybe help with journey planning
  12. Had a flyer through for a new place called Alter on Ecclesall Road. Prices look reasonable, but would like to know if anyone has been. Got a couple of pairs of trousers that need sorting but would like confirmation of their quality before risking them. Ta
  13. My post regarding Shepley Spitfire was 18 months ago. I agree the quality has gone down since the landlord/lady moved up to Crookes. As far as Greene King/chain pubs go, the food was of decent enough quality. We are really missing a place in Sheffield that serves good quality fresh food and also somewhere you can entertain the kids. If someone could provide such a place, it would be an absolute goldmine.
