  1. My wife has used PA Jewellery at Commonside, Walkley. Good service.
  2. People are expressing themselves, both the op and the critics. Now that IS freedom of expression.
  3. Agreed, the Cherry needs a facelift. It has potential to be a good pub once again.
  4. TIMID, like yourself hiding behind a keyboard. Sorry chummy, I have tackled verbally and nearly physically your 'traveller' chums outside my own house before now, and I would do it again. Your sort are the ones who encourage the 'antics' of these traveller groups by defending them to the hilt and then accusing critics of their ways as being 'racist'. I side with my property that has been targeted in the past by your 'friends'. So please crawl back into your hole, tree-house or where ever you emerged from and "sshhhhhhh !"
  5. I watched most of this programme last night, up to where the evictions had started but then had to nip out. What puzzled me was this. There were plenty of voiciferous "protesters " shown who really had nothing to do with the travellers, and there were plenty of traveller women and kids shown. BUT up to this point there were no male travellers shown on the programme. WHY ? One reason comes to mind; they don't want their mugshots on national tv because they're already on a lot of CCTV recordings ? They were "busy" doing something else like an honest days work, to enable them to pay tax ? OR did I miss them when they suddenly appeared in the remainder of the programme I didn't see ?
  6. Me @ FLEET SERVICES, CALVERT ROAD, DARNALL, SHEFFIELD. S9 5EU Price to you Sir ...... £ 9.50 + vat = £ 11.40 a bargain !! Thats a 15 metre roll, yellow, 10mm od.
  7. Best bet would be to contact these folk at Northcoates Airfield. Technically its live from Monday to Friday. http://www.northcoatesflyingclub.co.uk/ This airfield is right next door to the "Restricted Zone " for Donna Nook.
  8. and get some lights on it this time of the year.....unlike the PLONKER who was cycling along Montgomery Rd, Nether Edge this morning at 7.00am.....NO LIGHTS & NO HI-VIZ. Some people ask for trouble.
  9. For that sort of budget try the Greystones area (S11) You'll come under the High Storrs School catchment area, whic is one of the better schools, or you could try Notre Dame school which also has a good reputation. Start looking online at Rightmove and enter the S11 postcode for properties. Hope this helps. Ade
  10. Hey spiderweb, I hope you're not knocking us old uns ! 56 these days is still "young at heart".......( a bit daft in the head though ) I'm nearly 52 and just done my first 10km run on Sunday. Mind you I still act like a big kid. Good on your dad though.
  11. Cuttsie, my garage at home is full of bottles of Marstons, Thwaites, and Theakstons (plus a few Lech and Tyskie) and 'er indoors does get some nice Cumberland sausage every now and then from Bents Green butchers. I fly both flags.
  12. Great idea having the Continental market there on Sunday. I did the race then re-hydrated on Polish lager (2 pints) and topped up the calories on some Polish sausage and a tray of Bigos......."SLURP !" Slept like a baby on the settee for the rest of the afternoon.
  13. He would normally have gone via Penistone Rd, today he went via Hag Hill, Dial House, Leppings Lane and it was a bit longer going that way than his normal route. Fairly simple really. If you can't go through, go around....or is that a bit too much like hard work for some.
  14. ps my son lives here at Ecclesall and played footy at Colley Park while I did the run........guess what........he says it took him about 10 MINUTES LONGER to get over there than it normally would do. So whats your problem ?
  15. 1 hour 4 mins it took me me to run the 10k........not happy about that because I lost concentration looking at all the backed up traffic !!! City centre to Herries rd and back. If motorists (like me) cant get round that then you shouldn't be driving. Get organised you divs.
  16. Whoa ! What about Brother Spike (Anthony) ...top bloke. He'd turn a blind eye to us smoking in the potting shed right outside the brothers back door of their house. If you got a wallop it's possibly because you deserved it. I received "6 of the best" from Wilf for 'wagging' school for a week. Wheal marks on my ar5e for a week and a bit but I didn't 'wag' it again. I don't believe they were bullies, just hard task masters. "Strapper" Grant gave me six on the backside, not because he was a bully but because I was chasing after another lad with boiling sulphuric acid in a beaker. I think I deserved a wallop for that one. Bro's MaxiMouse and SirryAnus were just grumpy old men as far as I was concerned but if you were prepared to get stuck into your work and tow the line then there was no problem. It's called discipline.....something thats lacking these days within society.
  17. I can still remember our 5 digit phone number where I lived down Swaledale Road as a kid in the Sixties. We moved from there when I was 9 in '69 but cant remember the number from the 'new ' house.
  18. I'm having similar problems with my Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista. Is it safe to go into Task Manager and shut down some of the processes or is this best left to such as CCLEANER etc ?
  19. Poor result but a half-decent performance at Wycombe. Should have won it but its early days yet and I believe we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. We left the ground at 4.50pm and were back in Sheffield for 6.30pm....beat that ! Turned out Wycombe Air Park is only a couple of miles from the ground. No traffic jams at 2000 feet.
  20. THEY HAVE GONE BUST ! My colleague has been left high and dry by the shisters !
  21. Constant changes to road layouts cause problems. Norfolk Park Road, par example, two ways for years now all of a sudden ONE WAY = MORE traffic forced down Granville Rd = MORE trafic jams. Prior to this, it wasn't half as bad. ........... Please don't tell me you are a "Road planner" ! Classic example of Council road planning: Top of Silverdale Rd where it meets Millhouses Lane, a few years ago our EXPERT ROAD PLANNERS put in a mini roundabout at a cost of over £30,000.00 ! Result = LARGE INCREASE IN ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ! .........Removed at EXTRA cost less than a year later. Great these "complex road planning software systems" NOT.
  22. So you will be getting rid of your car ? Thought not, but you don't want any new drivers / more cars on the roads.
  23. Try filling a collander with water, what happens ? It doesn't fill because there are too many holes in it. Try blocking all the holes barre 3 or 4, now what happens? Water backs up ! Block off all the "rat runs" in the suburbs and force all traffic down half a dozen main arterial routes, what happens ? .......... I think you can all work that one out.
  24. True but it wasn't fair on us for her to spawn so many kids !
