  1. South Yorkshire Batteries, as the previous poster says, good prices and top service !
  2. Seen them a few times down at Bramall Lane, and Denny even taught me a bit on guitar. If you're there Denny I'm still paying (in a fashion) and if you've still got that Yamaha SG2000 I'll do you a straight swap for my EKO Ranger that I used at your flat for lessons. All the best Ade......and Sue (ex Boots worked with Margaret)
  3. Contro, you're wasting your time..believe me. I photographed rubbish being dumped at the bottom end of Calvert Road, Darnall by some "builders" contracted by the landlord of the property (1st on the left going up Calvert Rd). Along came two council inspectors to take my complaint and I was told that my photographs would not be used in evidence. It then transpired that the case was not taken up because of lack of proof..........Hang on a mo, I witnessed it, photographed it, logged reg numbers etc, but nothing gets done. To rub salt into wounds, Streetforce turned up a week or so later and cleared up the mess. As for dealing drugs, it's no longer conducted at the back of the shops by the old Fiery Fred pub, it's blatantly done on Coleridge Rd and outside the shops at Clipstone Gardens. So in a nutshell......save your breath as it's a complete waste of time reporting anything to the authorities !!!
  4. He's a big lad......saw him in The Green Mile with Tom Hanks !
  5. It's time they made a radius, of say half a mile around schools as NO PARKING zones (except for residents) and started fining, heavily, the idle parents (it's dads aswell as mums) that choose to ignore the regulations. For non payment, confiscate their cars........and give 'em 500 (double yellow) lines to be handed in the following morning ! Saying "It's my intention that my son / daughter should grow up to be an overweight, under exercised, lazy, ignorant slob like me."
  6. Wouldn't mind Tez, jammin' on me own using http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/ gets a bit boring. Much better with a bunch of "old farts" and a few beers !!!
  7. Got guitar, some fingers and can strum n' pluck a bit. More rhythmnmnnm..um..mnnm (never could spell rhythmn) rather than lead (end up with knotted pinkies) early 50's (not taste of music, but age ) in S11 area. Giz a pm if you're interested..... p.s. ey up Tezmond how's the Villa ?
  8. Nowt wrong with a Jaipur or Lord Marples or even a Black Harry !!!
  9. I had more chance of scoring with Mother Theresa !!! Either way 10/10 for optimism, UP THE BLADES !
  10. Rusty drive shaft causing problems ? Thats's a new one on me !
  11. If you want I'll do it for £5.00 per door..........but I can't guarantee them looking anything like doors by the time I've done.....oh and they might not quite sit in the jamb....and you want handles fitting (sharp intake of breath) "that'll be extra". .....and the hinges will be surface mounted as I've no chisels to rebate them.
  12. I'm no tradesman but this guy is spot on. In the past we've had "joiners" who would have struggled to join two words together....and it ended up costing more in the long run. Recently we had a real Joiner who cost a few quid more BUT did a cracking job. ....Old addage, PAY PEANUTS = GET MONKEYS !!
  13. Hasn't he had his name banded about the media. Mud sticks.
  14. I am certainly NOT condoning what Evans did. BUT, wasn't Stefan Kiszko also found guilty. None of us were present in court OR in the hotel so are we really in a position to give our opinions based on what we've read in papers, heard on the grapevine, etc.?
  15. What about this scenario. McDonald, who has been found not guilty, decides to take the girl to court for wrongful allegations, defamation of character etc etc. Would he not be successful in this action ? Surely he has grounds for recourse.
  16. and mine's stopping in the hangar today aswell !!
  17. I'll second the Kumon route. My youngest son struggled big time with his Maths and at age 10 went to "Kumon" locally. It's based upon repetition learning and numerical relations and worked wonders with his Maths. He's now studying at Leeds Uni. ALSO, it is said that learning music, be it piano, guitar whatever and the theory behind it also helps greatly with numeracy. .....BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES LET YOUR KIDS LOOSE WITH A RECORDER !!!
  18. Try Woodford Aerodrome near Poynton ( Bramhall area of Manchester) I believe thats where the Nimrods are being scrapped. You may be able to get permission to take a few pics.
  19. The Dual Mass Flywheel is part of the engine BUT also the part to which the clutch assembly is attatched. Failure of the DMF can be down to a few reasons such as general wear and tear, and also a battery that is low on cranking power (usually when the battery is nearing it's "best before" date). Youtube has a few videos relating to DMFs so have a watch of these. My Honda CRV had a failed DMF although the clutch itself was ok but I still had a clutch fitted as the mileage was in the 70k bracket and the cost of labour alone was a couple of hundred smackers, so whilst everything was dismantled it seemed a "no-brainer" to replace the clutch at the same time. (as Sheffgrow states)
  20. put me down for a meet if poss. I also bought a D3100 and am still setting it to AUTO and shooting. I'd like to learn more of the cameras capabilities. Ade
  21. He shut down a few months ago after being robbed. Shame as he was a good bloke and did a decnt job for a reasonable price.
