Having money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Never knew that, if I couldn't get parked in disabled I would always pay, the only way to get out of car park so I thought. I have also drove straight pass when seeing the full sign to spend time driving round and round, I now take a taxi, easier but expensive. Yes that was amazing, bet it wouldn't work for me.

Definitely Cambridge Street near Nel's Bar if any one remembers that. -

I'll go along with that, I think he was just trying to be a smarty pants and it back fired on him. -
So who votes for this tripe, never seen any opportunity to vote anywhere. Maybe you should be able to vote on line.

I'm not into Shakespeare but when I read it, excuse my ignorance but I couldn't make head or tail of what he was suppose to be meaning so how could anyone fish a bit of racism out of that? As John Wayne once said "Who wrote this <removed> anyway?" -
What Are You Watching On Tv At This Moment ?
jaffa1 replied to pattricia's topic in Entertainment Chat
Up to now Michael Palin is the only one worth an award. -
No , Ditchfields dentist was at Montgomery House which is on Infirmary Road across from the Tesco on the corner of Montgomery Terrace Road . It's still a dentist and doctors although of course Ditchfield's not there any more, I still go there to the dentist, I've been going for many many years. As I remember Ditchfields retired, never heard that story of yours before. There was another dentist who everyone feared who was situated I think, in the old police house across the road from Ash Street, his name was Flint as I remember.

Lol and Madge were there in the early 60s.

Why is it so hard to get a doctors appointment?
jaffa1 replied to hockeybear's topic in General Discussions
You're one of the lucky ones, it's not like that at most surgeries. -
Why watch it if it's so bad ? I watch other things.

They make it very clear that this is not a drop in clinic and have been known to turn people away without a doctors letter.

I enjoyed mine a couple of years ago, tasty but a bit pricey, and why don't people want home make burgers anymore ? I disagree with that, much tastier than the mass produced.

I've never had any problems when I've rang 01443369258 or Northern Power Grid 0800375675

I'm diverting a little here but I've also been told bananas are also good for restless leg syndrome.

Well I would answer "because I love banana fritters". I'm beginning to wonder if this countrys gone mad, surely they don't go off like this in sensible countries. -
The Sheffield Star Newspaper (paper version)
jaffa1 replied to LOLBROO's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I've just been reading bits in the Star while waiting in a waiting room today, I couldn't believe how rubbish it is today. I checked the price of it and it said 83p, daylight robbery .I stopped getting the Star delivered many years ago because it wasn't worth its money but it's even worse now. -

Where was the hippodrome in Sheffield
jaffa1 replied to roughy101's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
Just jog my memory please, am I right in thinking the gods didn't have proper seats but they were like wooden forms or wooden steps. I seem to remember something like this but not sure if it was the Hippodrome. -
Get real , he went to more places than the Cenotaph and at least he had the dignity not to wear it there. Just because you never saw news casts and pictures with him wearing it doesn't mean to say it didn't happen.

You do realise that Michael Foot DID wear a donkey jacket, I've seen him on the TV many times in it. You're obviously too young to remember.

Doctors themselves say that most tablets give side effects and my doctor always said stay off tablets for as long as possible, only take them when really necessary.
-
Yes, yes, yes. The same thing has happened to three people I know and as soon as they stopped taking them they were fine but one had a stroke a year later. He was told he should never have stopped taking them but having explaining why he stopped he was then prescribed a lower dose which suits him fine so maybe that's the answer, a lower dose.

I am not only concerned with the appearance of only the females , I just happen to be following Barron 99 conversation when he mentioned the female Emily Thornberry. If it's the males you want to discuss how about Corbyn, have you noticed how he has smartened himself up in the past year with the prospect of becoming the next PM. He still wears wonky glasses though and not to mention Michael Foot with his scraggy old donkey jacket. If you don't think presentation matters then that says a lot of you.
