Thanks for the explanation Iceberg mate.... as for my lack of forum time I am pretty much a busy chap working up and down the country grabbing a salary in a pretty bleak time for employment which obviously eats up the tim I have to read drabble on here. Gutted to see how much it's gone downhill though as it seems to have gone from 60% good discussion, 40% nonsense to 90% of the latter these days. As for my original post, I'm not knocking wednesday recent form at all.. Statistics speak for themselves and The Owls form before today cannot be grumbled at. However I can grumble at a good few Owls fans on here who have been blowing the blue and white trumpet since mandaric's takeover. With heads as big as tango belt size they've sat speaking complete and utter nonsense without taking a second to think about anything......One point I will make out is during your Bleak spell when administration loomed and the support of fans was desperate this lot weren't on the terraces were they?...... Anyway the last week it's all pretty much gone to some peoples heads and it's been a constant attept to have a pop at United, therefore all I am trying to point out with this thread is that it comes back to bite you in the a**e..........this game called football does that!

I rarely post on here these days as every time I come on for a quick read it seems 80% of threads get hi-jacked and turn into stupidity leading to mass insults and numerous bans! However......... Having had a lot of time free this week i've had a good read on here every other day browsing numerous posts that could only be described as over confident Owls fans gloating, people who I feel have been extremely quiet during the time when the boat was rocking in S6 during the last few months, but since Mandaric came in they have suddenly lost the voluntary laringitis as found their voices again. Up until this morning Owls fans have constantly chanted two words alately: Relegation being the main one.....Well i'm not saying theres not a possibility however a nice hard fought result against 3rd in the league can't be grumbled at can it! (but I guess as far as wendesday fans are concerned with their rose tinted specs that tend to block our reality, this was obviously a flash in the pan and we are still doomed). Promotion being the second one....In comes Mandaric and a fe consecutive results against mediocre league one teams and all of a sudden Wednesday are world beaters who were to walk the league in style to gain easy promotion, to follow this Mandaric would then give Irvine a credit card with a limit of £10million to sign new players, which in turn would see Wednesday folow on from this season and walk the championship pushing for automatic promotion!!!!! Everything looked so well and so easy and they were so much better than United!!!!! And therefore this is where the word IRONY comes in!....The gloves is on the other hand tonight fella's, A dismal Owls performance down at lowly Exeter getting licked to say the least! I don't know about you but had we been the league one team getting turned over 5-1 like you guys were today, Ashamed would be a massive understatement! And all this while we sit back breathing a nice sigh after watching United (far from form) might I add, battle and earn the points against a top of the league outfit............. Until the next game wendy's it's very much a point advantage to us.....and to finish my post I raise this glass in my hand to the failure of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club today whilst listening to this very fitting track! BREAKING NEWS FLASH:- The Met office have just issued a severe weather warning for Sheffield and the surrounding areas.....apparently a massive shower of <removed> is on it's way up towards up from Exeter!!!

Soooo i'd recommend either nipping in to your local spoons or the one at hillsborough and asking for a quick word with the manager who will fill in a referal form with you and submit it off to head office. I don't post on the forum very often any more as I have family commitments but upon logging on tonight and seeing this I am deeply deeply saddened, one of the friendliest people I have had the pleasure of having a conversation with, all be it an online one but never the less enjoyable. A true gent who went out of his way to explain things to you, a very logical thinker and very rational in what he said.....I only just found out his age on this thread and to be honest and please take this as a compliment I believed him to be much older because he spoke a lot of sense in a lot of what he said, very wise man. Deeply saddened to see another one of SF's top guys leave us. R.I.P Fella, will raise a glass for you tomoro!

Its not different at all, I have exactly the same opinion of blades who stay away from the lane, crawling out of the woodwork when united achieve anything half decent.....The way I see it is if you don't go and watch your team then what real right have you to comment truthfully about how they have played or how they are doin? the truth is radio sheffields reporters are absolute garbage....and the 30 sec TV highlights don't say anything....... Stay away fans in my opinion are'nt fans, SIMPLE.......

Maybe Wednesday recovery from their debt ridden state would happen more quickly if you stay at home supporters actually attended games, rather than blowing your trumpet comfortably from your settee??? And before you say anything i'm writing this using my mobile phone whilst sat comfortable watching United on the south Stand. And noooo the game is'nt boring we actually look quite decent.

I honestly don't think you can say shocking about em, I think the basics are in place and today in spells in what can only be described as a poor game from both sides as a whole, I feel we put the ball around on the floor and started to use width. Three main ingredients see, to be missing which I feel we need to work on these are 1. Our physical presense (we have small players and we need more of the Jamie ward fearless attitude, he goes into tackles 100% commited no matter how big the opponent). 2. Natural wingers, we are getting the ball out wide but were not delivering the ball in the right places. We have Yeates who is a cracking crosser of the ball. Get him in and give him so minutes and i'm sure we will reap the rewards. 3. finally confidence. We look extremely shakey in areas and I want to see every player playing with the Ward attitude, don't be scared of nobody, get on the ball and aim to beat your man and get into attacking positions. I honestly feel that if we get a good result in the bag we will press on from this and playing with confidence we will bag a good few points in this league.

Football stinks these days hence why I have stopped posting so much on here and why I invest all of my hard earnt cash into non league football at the minute. Non-League teams preserve and act in the same principal as ENGLISH football as a whole acted many years ago, they nurture local talent from an early age and teach them the skills and discipline to progress further in the modern game. They look for players locally who might have slipped the net who deserve to be playing at a higher standard too. Money, Greed and agents have ruined the game, and this is'nt only reflected by the current financial situation on not only our local clubs but nationally, but lets also look at the recent attempts of the England national team, a squad that combines dictates a combined weekly salary in excess of £1m at club level yet fails to deliver. Bring back football in the community as we used to know it, and dedicated local scouts who regularly attend amateur football within the clubs based area. Get shut of agents who have no purpose in the modern game other than to manipulate money out of clubs to line their own pockets, they have no interest for neither their clients nor the clubs they do business with so whats the point in them? Once all of the above is rectified, maybe I will learn to love football again who knows?

Sooo if this is the case and Forgemasters were as you said willing to pay the "going rate", why did a spokesman for the company openly admit that the company could get the funding elsewhere should they want to? If they were willing to agree to the same term then surely they would have gone elsewhere in the first place? Unfortunately for that tit Nick Clegg he was too hungry to get into government that he joined forced with the Tories....He now has to partner with a regime who desperately want to cut losses, had Nick Clegg not been a sheffield MP would people be slating him as much (i doubt not)....argue all you want that Nick Clegg is a traitor, but at the end of the day he's merely the shadow of the current government, the lib dems are the "YES MAN" to the new tory government....So feel free to what you want to think, it was'nt Nick Cleggs personal decision to cut off the forgemaster agreement, it was the new tory government..... The truth of the matter is that NO uk government will ever have the best interest of our country at heart...they are merely very good poker players who know how to bluff at the right time in order to win a hand.. Now lets all bow down to the tory government as they follow the Americans into our third massive war in recent years, bring on Iran....because thats whats going to happen, no doubt leading to numerous deaths of poor UK soldiers..... The Uk has no stance in the world any more, we sold our independance many years ago, and now we heavily rely on everyone else to keep us stable and safe....

Of course your opinion is'nt based on the fact your from the dark side of the city is it BigTee When you see the tackle slow like they showed it, you can clearly see that Lowtons original tackle was neither two footed or off the ground. The tackle itself would have been good, it was the timing that he got completely wrong! the contact was made on McNaughton after the original tackle itself due to timing, anyone who plays football knows that if you commit yourself 100% into a tackle but get the timing wrong, momentum carries you through and a good tackle can look ten times worse than it actually is if late because as the top half of your body hits the deck, your legs leave the ground as they did with Lowton today. It was his timing that led to the follow through catching McNaughton. However he will learn, inexperience was at fault today not maliciousness, and you could argue that within the rules of the game, it's merely a yellow card offence, whether United decide to argue this though is entirely down to them. And yes mis-timed tackles do cause broken legs, however in the rules of the game it's a yellow card offence as neither it is raised footed or two footed so yes in that sense your right however, not malicious in the slightest as I keep saying more inexperience and warrants a yellow. And to back up this theory I definately think that had it been a young wednesday player at fault here, or against United for that fact alltho I would have been happy at the one man advantage (who would'nt) I would think the same thing, as its not malicious it's mistimed.

I don't know whether I think it's a red card or not in all honesty the more I look at it the more indecisive I am about it. If I can look at it another way though, Let's say it was a bit rash and even if we say it was a red card, Lowton did'nt intend on doing it, I think he's fallen casualty to his lack of experience, he's young and wanted to put everything into his game, the tackle was no doubt 100% commited yet mistimed. Either way though, it did'nt affectus too much and we still got a result from it sooo all is well. If the team showed that amount of commitment and unity for the rest of the season, not only will I go home happy every week, but I can see us doing well.

I don't know how you can take so many negatives from the game Ousetunes mate. After going down to 10 men we all know your game plan goes out of the window, and rather than playing any sort of style of football, usually it simply becomes all hands on deck. After going down to 10 men I actually have a praise for Blackwell for once, he decided to keep things as they we're and simply dragged Ward back to full back. Going down to 10 is bad enough, without having to throw another player into the mix which personally I feel can knock a team totally of the boil. As a team I think we did more than enough considering all of the factors, we battled well and considering we had ten men and ruled the majority of the match with the better possesion rates all besides the last 20 minutes of course, and continued to play football in and around the opposition 18 yard box again with only 10 men, I have mainly praise for the team. The goal was a bit of a boo boo which marred a more or less decent performance from where i'm sitting. I've drawn many a positive out of today, I'm not going to slate that performance at all.

I've always been a strong believer in scouting non known young players or even non league players, because like you lot have said you never know whos lurking around in those leagues who could be an absolute star.

CB Mate - might sound a rediculous question but when you wear the shirt over there, do people actually recognise it? Do people know much of United?

Like that one, I enjoyed last seasons in all fairness however the collar alltho nice was a bit of a pain the the arse for me, especially playing in it at training and stuff I found it to be a target for shirt pulling (throttled a couple of times). Is it just me or does it have a little bit of a retro feel about it?? Good Shirt Overall, will have it on pre order!
