Hi,I used to work at walker and Carson’s in the bookbinding room and I remember Mary, she was already working there when I started in Dec 1959. If I remember Mary used to work on the Halley machine. My name is Dorothy was Kidd. Other people who I remember were Marian Martin, Wendy Waller, Barbra Murray, Ann Sharland,Beryl Priest. Terry Mathers. I’ve just seen your post , they were good old days with Mr Ray being the boss.

I went to Pye bank school in 1950 -1955 and then on to Burngreave school. Through reading some of your posts I remember the headmaster as Mr Cook and I remember a miss Wragg as she had a wart on her tongue. I lived on Nottingham street just below the co-op.Gill Linter and myself (Dorothy Kidd) lived in the same yard.We both went to Lopham Street Sunday school.Other names I remember from pyebank school are Peter therston,Marilyn Walker, Diane Hollis,Vicky Shaw,Elaine Gale, Pauline O'Brien, Margaret Crookes, Janet Minnis,Stewart Morton.June Leggat and David Guite. Does anybody remember any of these names ?

Ive just had a new boiler fitted and even though the heating is turned to off every half hour or so i hear it kick in for 2mins then goes off again, this happens during the night when im not using any water, ive been told its the fan thats going and that the boiler is only on when the flame appears on the little screen, i wondered if anyone else has noticed this.

Does anyone know if the new Tesco in Penistone is gonna be open 24x7 ? its due opening date is August, it will be so handy having a supermarket on the doorstep - or will it ! as they only want you through the door,

ive had a new boiler through the scrappage scheme and am still waiting for the £400 and thats over a month ago, once you apply and get the voucher it may take a while but you will get your money back.
