  1. With such high level of education she should not have any problems getting a work visa. Dentists are in high demand! Please consult an immigration lawyer, who can recommend best course of action.
  2. Do people feel more lucky if the economy is doing well? Is our sense of luck correlated with how our society is doing. In other words, is lucky really all about luck? I think this is an interesting question because the way we feel about our luck is very much influenced by our surroundings.
  3. The proposal is understood by many as moving away from a social net/responsible business to a more capitalist, risk taking economy. Would you agree? Also, it seems these proposals may have very different implications for small businesses versus large corporations. Giving your workers' rights, while being employed by a large company seems less risky than doing so while being employed by a small business. What are your thoughts?
  4. Check out whois.com - its an old registrar with good reviews. If you want reliable hosting with your domain, I would recommend siteground.com.
  5. Hello Bizzo, I work for a business insurance company and I thought I would just give you a quick overview of what you may need to consider when you are setting up your business. Firstly your local council may require you to obtain a licence to sell food - a sort of health and safety badge. Secondly - as part of the process of obtaining the licence you may need to provide them with your public liability, product liability (and if you have any employees) employers liability insurance. These are all standard cover types for this kind of trade. Public liability protects you and your customers if they get injured on your premises. Products liability is important to protect you against a potential illness or injury caused by your products (food) Employers liability is a legal requirement if you have any employees - it protects you and your employees if they get injured whilst the y were working for you. If you have any queries or questions please feel free to get in touch via http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/social/online-customer-support Kind Regards Tim
  6. Hello Sheza, I know that there are a couple of schemes that are being run by some local councils and the Princes Trust. As you may have already found out a lot of councils are requiring that you have public liability insurance in place to be able to obtain your licence. If you have any queries or questions regarding business insurance please feel free to get in touch via http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/social/online-customer-support Kind Regards Tim
  7. Hello JamieJ, I work for a business insurance broker and I thought I would just echo some of the comments above regarding public liability insurance (PL). PL is vital if you are going into peoples homes to carry out your work - if you put your bag down and someone trips over it and breaks their leg - tries to sue you - PL kicks in and protects you. It also applies if you cause damage to your clients property in some one. PL is also a good way of showing that you are a professional as you have the foresight to cover in place. Peace of mind. If you have any queries or questions please feel free to get in touch. Kind Regards Tim
  8. Hello Lizelard, If you are looking to attend fairs and other events you will find that more and more sites will ask you for public liability (PL) insurance. PL protects you if anyone gets injured and tries to sue you or the event for any associated costs. I work for a business insurance broker so if you have any queries or questions please feel free to contact me via http://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/social/online-customer-support Kind Regards Tim
  9. Hello Raynor, The fact the you are looking to set up a business in an industry that you have previous experience is brilliant. It means that you know what to expect on a day-to-day basis and what it's like and what it takes to do the job. Will you be looking to work in peoples homes or are you interested in taking on commercial contracts like offices for example? 7 days a week worth of work means that before to long you will need to be taking on staff - I work for a business insurer and the main cover you will need is public liability insurance which protects you if you cause damage to someone property. If you employ people you will need to have employers liability. If you have any questions or queries regarding business insurance please feel free to send me a message. Kind Regards Tim Simply Business
  10. Hello Mrsfairest, Just to build on a previous comment you will find that certain venues will require you to have public liability (PL) cover in place before they even let you on-site. PL basically protects you against cost associated with someone getting injured by you or your company during the events you run. If you have any employees you are legally required to have employers liability cover. You can also get equipment cover or tools if it's needed. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a direct message. Kind Regards Tim
  11. Hi I3lade4life, I work for a business insurance broker called Simply Business - we are actually mentioned in a previous post. When it comes to public liability cover it's good that you are looking into it as you will find more and more sites / venues will start asking for it before you can set up. Due to the nature of your product (baked goods) you can also get a combined public + product liability cover. If you have any queries or questions please feel free to contact me via http://ow.ly/3PBDu Kind Regards Tim

  13. Hi neeeeeeeeeek, The odd 2 days here and there can soon add up to a healthy source of income - and because you can take the work on as and when you are available - in a lot of ways you are in control. Bearing this in mind it's important that you make sure you are following the relevant tax, insurance and business guidelines meaning that you don't end up in a spot of bother. If you have a look at the knowledge section of the simply business home page there is a good guide on setting up as an IT contractor. I work for a business insurer so if you have any questions regarding the various types of cover please feel free to contact me via this post or a private message. Kind Regards Tim
  14. Hello Bojolo, There are various options when it comes to equipment cover - alot of insurers will ask you to confirm the location and security in place. It is possible to get cover where up to certain levels you only need to confirm that the vehicle is secure - i.e locked and the windows not open. If you want to discuss you're options please feel free to send me a private message. Kind Regards. Tim
  15. Hi Sambilena, I like the plan to offer your photographer services at a reduced price in order to build your portfolio - as you know having a sample of your work will make it so much easier to get bookings. People like to have an idea of what they are buying and the portfolio doe's exactly that. When considering insurance - although you may be charging less than normal fee's - if someone was to get injured as a result / your work - the cost's to you will still be normal. For example if someone trips over your camera bag and breaks their leg - you could find yourself with medical bills, loss of income bills etc. I work for a business insurance broker and those claims are fairly rare but they do happen. To protect yourself against claims that nature you need public liability - it can be as low as £1m or £2m. If you want to discuss your options regarding insurance please feel free to email me at [email protected] Kind Regards Tim Simply Business
