  2. I am sure European resorts will welcome tourists and the trade we bring just as much as other types of trade I just wondered if cruising might be better value as airport taxes will be up and pound down
  3. Could cruising be a good holiday option while we are negotiating brexit We could be in Europe with out staying in one place just cherry picking the weather?
  4. I would say one person's fool or fanatic could be another person's teacher or sage, so what you are saying is its wrong for a person to have conviction?
  5. Clearly someone who refuses to debate has lost the argument, free will is the overwhelming message of the bible and no way fits into my church, only if you fully understand what we stand for would you join, you would never be asked to join we use all translations not just one. You don't like a whole group of people and refuses to offer reason. This reminds me of antisemitism and Hittler I would strongly advise any reasonable person to disregard this poster on this subject maybe he has expertise in other area We offer a balanced look with historical facts in a neutral venue The truth is that the bible is worth a look for many many reasons I
  6. This approach could lead skeptical people to dismiss the Bible. Without trying this happens in Acts. 18 v 24Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. 25He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervora and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately. The point is that Apollos had a knowledge of scripture but he did not fully understand and afterwards he was able to prove from scripture that Jesus was the Messiah. The New Testament would not be written at this point. In Acts 8 we have a further example v26Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopiana eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” 30Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. 31“How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 33In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”b 34The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” 35Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. A copy of the Book of Isaiah was found in 1947 by a Arab boy it was part of the Dead Sea scrolls and carbon dated before Jesus time
  7. I am called to preach jimmy even if it's in a dark place. The lady who gave the long list of questions changed 100per cent when I said I would what answers to all her questions , she stuck her head in the sand not only that she advised others to do the same and not attend a bible based seminar, Click the link and then look at what's covered and you can see her questions were there. The fool has said in his heart there is no God.... That is fool not in the way most people think , I think even you are not daft enough to say you can prove God dose not exist . I have 900 listened to hours of atheists and christian debate on my ipod some better than others. I know Dawkins is weak and like yourself and others wants to be angry at a God they don't believe in. Because they look at the copy and pasted 0.001 content and miss the point, miss the love, miss the purpose, miss God plan To answer yours and others objections is something we have obviously set out to do See the Link and look at what's covered, however that's the start of So when you understand how.reliable the text is the good stuff starts and it is awesome and it builds day by day week by week year by year. I don't do this for any other reason than I want to share. Nobody is paid nobody is above anyone in rank we do good works here and around the world., we have failing just like anyone else secular or religious . One question ill try to give you a brief answer There are many different bibles , but the text is unchanged from early to late fragments more detail will be given, the story of the early translation to English is probably best script never told in film ( read The Protesters ) William Tyndale did wonderful work, people organisations have agendas kings and Queens. There has only one thing been added that was not in any original text and this only in a few bibles king James is one. The translator did not want it in but a organisation!! It's in John's letters Anway you can use many tools to find the root words Hebrew or Greek which is very rewarding You get to see why a particular team of translators did what they did I'll give you one example.. You are my Satan You are against me on sheffield forum The word Satan is more often translated adversary or to oppose The dead sea scrolls are a fine example of bible reliability This is just a fragment of what you can learn, the lady who asked all that list of questions did not want them answering, she has said in her heart there is no God . I really thought the questions were brilliant We all need faith, we do not abandon reason faith comes by looking and testing the word I hope she reconsiders her post? Did she really want answers or did she copy paste her list or take time to thoughtful ask them., if she was thoughtful you would think she would look deeper Again I have adversary
  8. Sorry I missed your question , there are good reasons we can trust the text we have, we would not use any translation be all, being aware who funded it and why some words get translated badly, and historical facts from many of the world's experts who have no agenda museums too
  9. A few honest thoughtful posts, but the majority have gone the original proposition and done the atheist copy and paste stuff which when I say we have answers to people's 0.001% of difficulty passages. Don't you think we know them The Bible is a eye opener, most people have no idea just how much truth and fact is in there 99.999% you chose to forget. Maybe they were left for some reason maybe for atheists As usual reason and debate turn into hate and ridicule, every post on this subject go's this way. The Bible is like no other book as just one reasonable atheist has attested The second point is that Christianity is Bible light today, any comments from Christians?
  10. Science is the cause of mass murder on a vast scale , to be fair humans misusing science just as human use religion falsely but nowhere near the scale ---------- Post added 31-08-2015 at 18:12 ---------- What happened last time?
  11. Wow so much wrong with this post it's hard to comprehend, firstly I said I would ask all the same questions she did and yet she is not prepared to listen... SHE asked! Secondly I lost count of the assumptions she made that are so far from the truth I hate any sort of clairvoyants or bullying we don't do any types demonstration and as for biochemistry we have them too and really can you explain it to you anyone . Thirdly you say we seek to impose or influence .she ask the questions and refuses to look at what we have to say, And then impose her influence on other forum members Wow!! Very poor post on any level
  12. Fantastic list of question, I would ask myself too and we deal in detail with you list. wonderful list anyone who wants answers please come along including the poster. This is what we cover!!!
  13. Thanks for your helpful comments ---------- Post added 31-08-2015 at 10:03 ---------- By running a seminar on the bible and not a lecture there would be opportunities to deal with these and many other difficult questions that are better resolved in that format. Please don't take this the wrong way but atheism is a belief system as atheists will only look at evidence that leads to there own conclusions, or would you say you could prove God dose not exist? As for making the bible ease to understand I would say it's for anyone of any level, we have many scientists of every type in our community some on our seminar. Equally if you set out in your heart that there is no God, you will find objections I think it's interesting well know atheists seem to hate a God they don't believe in. Imagine a proof so easy no one could argue? We would just be robots. This is where free will comes in (ooch that's almost as deep a consciousness) our aims are not to convert anyone just that a consistent message through the whole bible and there are reason we are able to trust the text. We are there to do our best make friends and respect everyone. We feel that Christians of any strand would find this set of seminars helpful along with sceptical people too click the link for more info it's free we are friendly
  14. I think there are a lot of people think the way you do and with very understandable reasons. This is why we take the time to run informed factual seminars (see the link below ) we don't ask anybody to believe that's a personal response, there are solid answers to your bible objections.. Engage and if something is worthwhile it will probably take a little effort.
  15. It's just a personal opinion of who you think might be on that list. On Google jesus is not always top but in most of the lists he is top 3, number one in most, not a bad result for someone who is preached as a myth by atheists Yours number one might be Plato if he is real
