  1. Went to http://www.bawtrypaintballfields.co.uk/ a couple of years back, I've not got much basis for comparison but it was a brilliant 1/2 day we had(full days available also) and not too expensive, even though when I got out there I thought I was Rambo and was firing pretty much constantly. Decent play areas, specifically created for paintballing, rather than just being in a wooded area with no obsticles like one I went to a few years back. If you do go there look out for the instructer that can't talk and keep his eyes open at the same time.
  2. Check out Hargate Hall in Derbyshire. We are booked in for June next year and will be doing all our own catering (for which there is no extra charge). They can supply a pay bar or you/yours guests can supply your own alcohol. Is a very unique and beautiful venue. Would be yours (along with its 7.5 acres of land) for the whole weekend too. Well worth a look http://www.hargate-hall.co.uk Good Luck Emma xxx
  3. Remember when there was 2 posts a day? There was the second post in the afternoon, then there was the first post, which came so early you could never get up before it, like it was delivered by Santa in his off seasons. I remember as a nipper I'd deliver papers in the snow, 6am, and thered already be footprints going in all the gardens as Royal Mail had already been. Then came the lie, that 2nd post was ending, when it was actually first post that stopped, so we're lucky to get post before the kids come home from school. "Support your local post office" signs adorn the local stations as they fight a loosing battle against more efficient methods of communication, but in exchange for that support we get dimminished service. Whenever I know I need to go to the post office(Hillsborough) my heart sinks, because I know that pretty much whenever I go I better take a book(and I do), because the queue will be beyond reasonable. So watch out for me, standing in queue at Hillsborough, face like a slapped a*se, reading a book and sighing.
  4. Got to agree with you here. Teaching kids at an early age that there is no responsibility to having money, all they have to do is borrow, is a terrible lesson in life which will echo into adulthood. We live it a time of debt based society, goods are no longer aquired by trading tangible items and skills, but by what we can pay in the future, with the admin fees and interest added ofcorse. Take for example a mate of mine, a few years back, went shopping for a second hand car. He found one he liked which was 4grand, the dealer asked him to come inside so they could draw up a credit agreement and he said he would be paying in cash. Dealer went inside, came back 5 mins later and told my mate the cash price was £4500. He said he makes more profit on the interest and by people missing payments than he does on the car. What kind of society values credit over currency? The answer is a debt based one. I know 2quid is only a small amount, but the lesons learned in childhood amplify in later life, and learning that you don't need to be responsible for the money you have, as you can always get credit is not a lesson I'd like mine to learn.... Speaking as someone who had to go bankrupt not long back because of the amount of irresponsible dept I got into as a young un.

  7. Don't want to have a go at you but you are part of the problem. Yes you might have only been there for a couple of mins, but how would you feel if you couldn't park anywhere near your house because people can't be bothered to use the system that's been put in place for them. Namely the park and ride, or co-op or raised car park next to it.
  8. Had it done the other week with my Mrs. Must admit I felt a bit of a prat sitting there giggling like a lass. Felt good once I'd gotten over the ticklishness(about 10 mins in for me) then I started to enjoy it and was sorry it was over. As for the result? Dunno, it'd take longer than 1/4 of an hour, or fish the size of barracuda to get my plates of meat lookin' presentable. Oh and incase anybody other than me was wondering... No, you can't get AIDS from them, at least that's what the dolly bird behind the counter said when I asked her
  9. I was all for the idea, living Just off the main shopping in Hillsborough, I sometimes find I can't park within 100 yards of home, which is so frustrating when I've got a boot full of shopping or the kids in the car, because of people parking in front of my house to go shopping instead of using the deserted car park at the park and ride. Then I got the finalised plan through last week and it does nothing at all to fix the problem. Where I live people can still park as they like, for up to 2 hours, completely free. I get to pay for what I get now, that is take a chance parking, where getting a space withing 50 yards of my own house is a rarity. Am I just being pessimistic or is there an upside I'm missing?
