  2. Hi, the buzzing sound is likely to be from the solenoid on the gas valve. As you have a repair contract with them I would advise contacting British gas to arrange for one of their engineers to visit to check the gas valve. If it is the solenoid buzzing it shouldn't cause any danger but a new valve still shouldn't be buzzing so they may well replace it.
  3. He was called Mr Roger Green. I was in his class around '89/ 90. I remember him reading his books to us in class. I think one was called something like 'the throttle penny murders'.
  4. Knock, Knock Whose their? The spelling and grammar police.
  5. Yes you're correct. If you turn off the mains stop tap and open the hot taps the water will stop almost immediately.
  6. Count me, my wife and my daughter in. We'd better only do three miles though, my daughter will no doubt be on my shoulders most of the way round because she's only 3 so it she might get a bit heavy for 10 miles. I'll follow the link and get us registered
  7. Other than being able to afford the initial outlay are there any reasons why you couldn't buy thousands of pounds worth of stamps now at their current price then sell them in future for 5p less than the new price, making around 15 to 20% return on investment?(As long as they had 1st or 2nd rather than value on them)
  8. I'm surprised the OP's OH didn't lose his tempura and batter them.
  9. For me the best bacon sarnie has to be on uncut thick white doorstop toast from Beth's Buttery on Dykes lane at wisewood/ malin bridge.
  10. Congratulations to John, it's the least he deserves. We'll be on the route cheering him on.
  11. It will almost certainly be the ball valve in the domestic tank which is passing slightly(this would explain why there was water built up during the night but the level dropped once your husband was up/ running taps etc). If you want it replacing we could visit between other jobs today or if you/ your husband want any advice re how to replace it please feel free to call anytime. Thanks City wide heating services 07581193693
  12. Which overflow is it? Is it one of the tanks in the loft (unless you have a combi boiler), the pressure relief valve(if you do have a combi), or a toilet overflow?
  13. Go on then- I'll tee it up for you: -how many letters?
  14. Yes- the other half is David Van Day
