  1. I rang Excel Taxis for a cab from the Northern General to my home. The man there said they weren't picking up from some parts of the city, but I was lucky.
  2. Did he own the Mojo Club in Sheffield? Sad news.
  3. Whoever did this is sick in the head. They ought to remember that God does not pay his debts in money.

  8. The same thing happened to me at the Northern General last Monday. I was forty minutes late for my appointment, after trying to gt a parking space for half an hour. For me too, it's the bus in future. One of the car parks was only half full, but the attendant said it was for staff parking only.
  9. I never went to the church, but I did meet Mr Turner. I also met a lovely lady from the church. Her name was Mrs Hickman, but we always called her Aunty Daisy. They came to our house, and it s amazing the things Mt Turner told us. His features seemed to change too. Of course this is many years ago,I was only a child, but the memory stays with me.

  11. Crampton and Moore still have a rather large shop at 109/11 High Street Ecclesfield. It's a good shop too.
  12. I saw Alan Price and Georgie Fame at the Cavendish Cub in 1967. If I remember rightly, the dance floor rose and became the stage.
  13. Perhaps you are right. I am most likely getting mixed up, as it was probably some other building. It was such a long time ago and I was only five.
  14. Thanks for the information Dave 3434.
  15. When my late Mother was in The Royal Infirmary during the late 1940's, my Dad used to take me to see her. I am sure there was a building there which had the following inscription over the main door - 'Abandon hope all ye who enter here'. Am I right or wrong please?
  16. The first Landlord and Landlady in the new High Greave were Arthur and Agnes Gregory, who had been licencees at the old High Greave. They had a son called Eric, who stood in for them from time to time. However Eric (my neighbour) was not fat at all. Perhaps there was another Eric though.
  17. e There are too many steps to climb at Ecclesfield Dam. They are also very narrow.
  18. Thursday is their half day. If you ring at 8.30 am, you will probably get a same day appointment, as some appointments are kept back for that purpose.
  19. Tony Devoto in City Road, had the dealership for Yugo cars. Didn't last long though.
