  1. A little random and I have searched but can't find it online, so, does anyone know what time the post office in Crookes is open until?? I'm wondering if I can make it there still today??
  2. For me it would be going on my gap year. I went to America to stay with people I'd never met before, not knowing anyone there and commited to being there for a year and I made it work. It was just after a pretty bad time in my life and I'm really proud of how I made things work out over there, got my head sorted out and just had the best year of my life.
  3. Did anyone see the show on ITV that this girl was on a couple of nights ago? It was called something like Teens with Body Obsessions. Well that girl was on it and she's what 10 years old? She was saying that it's the most important thing is how you look, and if you don't look good then people won't like you, and that she thinks she's fat, and as you can see in the video clip she's only a skinny little thing! It was truely horrifying to watch as this very skewed pov was reinforced by her mother. They also showed that she's being bullied in school, one clip showed her crying after school cos her trainers had been stolen. It was just...horrifying. She's 10 she shouldn't be worrying about being sexy or anything because she's not! She's a child and should act thus. On the same show was a girl who's now about 14 or 15 and had been using sunbeds 4-5 times a week since she was 11. Her mother was saying that she couldn't stop her as she (the mother) uses sunbeds too, even the fact that the mother had had a skin cancer scare hadn't put them off This girl looked, frankly more like a porn star than a 15 year old. She also said that she wouldn't leave the house without make up on and that she felt really ugly without it. It all just scares me that these children are growing up being told that how they look is more important than the people they are...we're going to end up with a generation of people who might be wearing all the latest styles but are absolutely vacuous and have no substance to their character. It's just going to be a generation of good little consumers who don't care about anything other than having the latest whatever it is. It's a really worrying state of affiars as far as I can see.
  4. Oooh, I'll have to remember all this, lol! I've just moved into a house and we've got two wheelie bins so I've got to remember to put them out on the right days! It doesn't help that the previous tennants left the normal bin almost full and the paper one totally full. I read on the top of the recycling bin (I am that lame, lol!) that if you bundle up extra card and paper the collectors will take it away when they come, is that true??
  5. I think it'll be funny when these kids get old enough to have their own kids, if they're really sick of having such 'unusual' (ahem, silly!) names then they might rebel and we'll have a generation of Norman's and Joan's, and other very normal names.
  6. Me and my friend saw a duck at uni today, really randomly and watched it wonder around and I was getting a bit worried about him getting stuck when he walked down a bit of a dead end and then he flew off and I was like 'Ducks can fly?!' very blonde moment, followed by a conversation along the lines of 'Hmm...chickens can't though right? And nor can penguins...?'
  7. I think it's a sunday thing! I was meant to be heading back to sheffield today but forgot to by my ticket yesterday so it would have cost me about £25 whereas to buy it today and go tomorrow it's £11...
  8. I'm very bored, should go an visit my aunty but I don't want to get dressed to go there So I'm painting my nails and considering a facepack instead...
  9. http://www.bay-c.co.uk/1095527639/index_html Nothing lasts forever by Ultra Synic according to google
  10. I always call them emoticons or emotes! I love this one and
  11. I'm going to see it on Friday at the Imax, I cannot wait! I'm really excited about the book too! That's my weekend plans sorted
  12. I trust my friends a lot, including KookyKoo and Future_Wag on here Bestest friends a girl could have!! I trust my parents somewhat but there's some things I don't tell them so that they don't worry or get upset.
  13. I use bowl for things you eat out, bowl of cereal etc, but also for washing up bowl. And I use dish for things you cook in, like someone else said, like a casserole dish. Lol, after reading this thread though the word bowl has started to lose all meaning!
