  1. Hi. Does anyone have any info as to why the street lights are all off on Colley Road? Any idea when they will be back on? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for letting me know, gabrielseven and Becky B.
  3. Thanks for your help everyone. We have normally picked elderberries end of September into October when we used to live up north but didn't know of any locations around Sheffield. Many aspects of nature are up to 6 weeks early this year due to the hot weather we have seen in the last month. We would therefore expect the elderberries to be ready for picking around middle to end of August this year.Once again many thanks for all your help.
  4. Hello. I am planning making elderberry wine and wondered if anyone can let me know if they have seen any good-sized elderberry bushes, away from main roads, from which I would be allowed to pick. Any help gratefully appreciated.

  6. Thanks for your help Sheffbag. Much appreciated.
  7. Thank you Stvoider. I thought and was hoping that this was the case with most music systems but I thought it was best to check. Will also take up your suggestion re googleing for pictures of the back of the amps.
  8. Hi. I am thinking of buying a new music system and want to be able to wire up my Panasonic Mini Disc player to it. It is not one of those portable things but the size of a CD player. Will I be able to wire it up using phono leads going from the output of the mini-disc player to an input of the amplifier in the music system or don't modern systems nowadays have this facility ? Any suggestions gratefully received.
  9. Thanks very much for your reply Fake. Will also post the question on Computer and Tech forum as you suggest.
  10. Hi. I am thinking of buying a new music system and want to be able to use my Panasonic Mini-Disc player with the system. The mini-disc player is not one of these portable things but similar size to a CD player. I want to be able to connect the mini-disc player using phono leads from the output of the player to the input of the system's amplifier. Do modern music systems nowadays have the facility for this or will I have to do this a different way? Any suggestions greatly received.
  11. Once again folks, thank you for your thoughts regarding your positive and negative experiences at car sales outlets. Really helping me to make an informed choice.
  12. Many thanks to all who have given the time and effort replying, giving constructive criticism regarding second-hand car dealers. Much appreciated. To xt500 ..... I have no intention of " having my leg lifted". I deliberately gave no details of the type of car I intend buying. If you had read my posting closely, I asked for personal experiences people had had, obviously referring to finding that "feel good" factor customers have when they have found the right car at a good price together with excellent after -sales service. All other replies have been written in this vein of thought. If these essential factors are non-existent then the type /model of car I intend to buy is irrelevant and does not come into the equation. Oh, and by the way ...... the phrase you are looking for is " You're going to.." and not " Your going to ....." . The word "your" should only be used as the possessive article.
  13. Hi Just wondered if anyone can recommended from personal experience a good second-hand car dealer in the Sheffield area. I am thinking of buying a car no more than 3 years old. Also, what is Eric Stead in Ecclesfield like for cars ? Many thanks for any contributions
  14. Moved to Sheffield 6 months ago after meeting my partner who is a Sheffield lass. Absolutely love the area......... completely the opposite from where I used to live in Middlesbrough. Why? ..... well there are so many reasons I don't know where to start but the people here are so more friendly. Complete strangers will pass the time of day with you. Stare at a complete stranger in Middlesbrough and say " Good Morning " and you would probably end up being mugged..... and I jest not! I feel safe here at any time of day or night, unlike in Middlesbrough. The surrounding area here is beautiful with the Peak District and Derbyshire a short drive away, as well as Monsal Dale........ such a peaceful environment. Oh yes ! ... I haven't mentioned the smog of Middlesbrough ! As someone born and bred in Middlesbrough, whenever I drove over the Tees Flyover into Teesside I could literally taste the sulphur emanating from the nearby chemical works. Here in Sheffield the air is far purer and I feel and am a lot healthier. Never been back to Middlesbrough since I left and I don't intend to unless I really need to.
