  4. Has anyone got any ideas how to stop restless legs at night or even how to prevent them, I have been sufferring for the past few weeks and it is driving me mad, as soon as I get into bed my legs feel as though they are twitching. It can last a few minues or even up to a couple of hours.
  5. This is an official statement from an ex member of Gemsoft, one of the main reasons we had to close was because many people started buying from internet based companies and larger stores such as PC World, some of our customers would rather travel to Rotherham or Barnsley just to save a £1 on a product. We prided ourselves in offering personnel service not just selling you any old thing just to make a profit. We also had large overheads and had to deal with suppliers, as we didn't buy as many products as the like of PC World we didn't get as big a discount as they did, but what we did get we passed on to the customer. We would like to return the favour and thank our loyal customers and the people on here who have wished us well even "The Daddy" (I know who you are, mark says wheres his jam roly poly) gemsoft wont return in any new form, sorry thats the end.
  6. Try the Central Librairy, they used to have back copies of the Star on Microfilm
  7. I did this yesterday because I had never heard of Stormfront. I came across their Forum. I have never read such Nazi/Racist rubbish in my life. They had threads such as, What books are good for white childrens to read Where can I buy Swastika shaped biscuit cutters My neighbours neice is seeing a black man, should I stop talking to her. The members were discussing these threads as easily as we discuss where we can buy cheap paint. Although free speech is important these sort of sites are very frightening.
  8. Hello, Are there any SF members who work as dinner ladies, a friend is looking for work in this area and would be grateful for any tips, ie- where do they advertise the jobs/rates of pay/hours that sort of thing. Any help or advise would help her immensly. Many thanks Valentine
  9. My Mum was told salt and alcohol both play a big part in high blood pressure, so you may need to cut down if you use a lot
  10. Over the weekend someone told me that the entire plant on shepcote is being closed, does anyone know anything about this. The person that told me wasn't somebody with any authority at Outo Kumpo so it could be totally untrue before anyone starts panicing.
  11. I saw them walking up Sawnbourne Road yesterday afternoon, it did make me wonder what would happen if they witnessed a crime in progress, would they tether the horses to the shopping trollies outside Netto or do they radio for back up.
  12. I'm sure Matt wasn't been nasty, from some of his other posts he comes across as quite caring and kind.
  13. I miss Mint Cracknel (spelling?) mmm
  14. Thank you for understanding the point I was trying to make, perhaps I should have worded it differently as other people didn't get the point.
  15. On last night Question Time a labour MP said Prisons, Care Homes and the smoking room in the house of commons would all be exempt. So a convicted murderer can happily puff away to his hearts content in prision, but people that served their country in WW2/Falklands and Iraq can't enjoy a smoke with a pint on a Sunday Afternoon. If we had Smoking and Non Smoking pubs we would all have a choice, by banning it, the choice has been taken away from many people.
  16. There is a lodge running in Penistone, it was held at the Spreadeagle Pub for many years and think it is still going
  17. They still have the man that was on life of grime, but I don't know if he can pick up dogs willy nilly or if strays have to be reported first
  18. I don't have a dog, but at first I was going to vote for "always on the lead", byt then I thought that wasn't fair on well behaved dogs who like playing fetch. Then I thought perhaps they should only be off the lead in open areas like parks, but then again they could frighten small children or people who don't like dogs. But then I thought that most of the problems dogs cause are actually down the the owners irresponsibility letting them roam free and run up to anybody they like. I have read many doggy threads on SF and all the dog owners seem responsible owners who wouldn't dream of letting their dogs go rampaging round. Perhaps the re introduction of the dog licence would put many rubbish owners off getting a dog and also if a fine was introduced for not controlling your dog properly like Fantomas said. After all these thoughts I don't know what to vote for, I will come back later.
  19. When my Grandad died I had been to see him in hospital the night before, not only did he look really ill and nothing like himself, he fell asleep so I quitely left without disturbing him. When he died during the night my only 2 thoughts were He didn't look like himself and I never said goodbye before I left. By seeing him in the Chapel of rest I could say goodbye and he also looked a lot more like himself so I had a nicer last memory of him. But like everyone has said you must do what you feel is best for you.
  20. I agree with Sophie and Lucretia, I don't want any children and neither does my hubby for various reasons, but whatever your reasons for not wanting children I think it is much better to stick to them instead of feeling pressured into having kids by well meaning people that want to be Grannies/Aunties/Uncles. The people I have come across that don't want children seem to have put a lot more thought into their reasons for NOT having children than the people I know that have had children for sometimes quite trival reasons, although I am sure they love them. I just think that the decision to have children is the biggest decision you will ever make but many people do without a second thought, very often they aren't in a stable relationship or financially secure, yet when I tell people I don't want children, they look at me like I am some sort of weirdo. Also some people think about when they are older it would be nice to have someone to keep an eye on you and have said to me "what about when your old you will be all alone", well apart from that been the worst reason for having kids, I used to work with old folk and the ones that had kids who didn't show up were a lot lonelier than the ones who didn't have them. I'd better go now before I get on my soap box.
  21. At the risk of sounding stupid, (I don't know much about the BNP) Why do they want to repatriate non whites only, they don't seem to mind white foreigners coming over here. It seems to me if the want an all white britain then they are racist which they say they aren't. And whatever crimes go on a good proportion are carried out by the born and bred british white people, so surely they can't put it all down to ridding the country of crime. Like I said I don't know much about the BNP so perhaps I have got this wrong,
  22. So after so many sucessful Valentine evenings will we be reading lots of "I'm expecting a baby in November threads"
  23. I haven't read all the threads so apologies if this has been asked, when they say ALL public places in England does this include the following, Prisions Cruise Liners/Ferries (when you are out of English waters) Dodgy "massage" parlours Before anyone asks the only one I have ever entered in the Cruise Liner, I am only asking out of curiosity
  24. Didn't 1 of the London Boys get killed a couple of years ago?
  25. I once flew with Aeroflot (Russian Airline) that was scarey. The pilot was reving his engine as we boarded and took off before we found our seats, they don't give you safety instructions either incase it frightens you.
