  1. Most cats leave the house and return a few hours later. Just as humans do. If a member of your family went out and didn't return overnight and you had no idea where they were, would you not consider them missing?
  2. Surely it's just common sense to keep dogs on a lead near any live stock? If you want to let him off the lead, go to places where there are no horses?!
  3. Any news? If he's still missing, i will share to Lost and Found pets all Sheffield area's facebook page for you.
  4. Hi. Is dog safe for tonight. Have you informed the warden that you've got him? ---------- Post added 21-05-2016 at 18:34 ---------- Sorry, just seen this was from yesterday. Did you find his owners?
  5. I was thinking the same. Are you 100% sure the dog was with them? Were they even aware that the dog was following them?
  6. Oh no, not again! They were out a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure they will have made their own way home. The brindle one is an American Bulldog x
  7. Me too! My dog is white with black spots, she's only small so I get children thinking she's a puppy Dalmatian! She's actually a Staffy! She loves the attention though, bless her. OP, I'm so sorry that you lost your Doberman But good look in your search for another dog, keep us updated with how you get on
  8. I've copied the rehoming template into your post. Please 'edit' amd fill it in. This must be completed if you wish to rehome the rabbit through the forum. Thank you.
  9. This might be the one that was moved by admin on a lost and found pets Facebook page. If it was them, they will have scanned it for a chip and taken it to a vets. I have messaged them to ask if they know anything about it. Can I ask what your cat looks like please? PS- The council have a habit of not scanning cats that they pick up. They also have a history of denying collecting cats that they have picked up! ---------- Post added 31-03-2016 at 20:56 ---------- ** UPDATE ** I've just had a reply from the lady. She did go to pick up the cat with the intention of scanning it but it had already been removed when she got there. She also rang around local vets to see if anyone had taken it in but she couldn't locate it. How strange. I really hope it wasn't your cat and hope she/he turns up safely soon X PS- Which council did you ring? Some areas around there are covered by Rotherham or Chesterfield council so try both of those as well Sheffield council X
  10. I assume this is Molly? If so, she's now home everyone
  11. People may be able to suggest more suitable places if you let us know what area you're in Mogsley
  12. They are so cute! I'd say they've got some American Bulldog in them. I'm sure they'll all find lovely homes
  13. This Saturday (26th March 2016) the RSPCA are microchipping dogs for FREE! At the RSPCA Sheffield Animal Centre, Stadium Way, Attercliffe, S9 3HN. Between 10am-2pm. Only a few weeks now before it is LAW to have your dog microchipped so if yours isn't already done, please take advantage of this!
  14. Ah right, I see. Yeah, I suppose that could get a bit expensive!
  15. She's home This clever little dog made her own way home and squeezed through two cat flaps! The neighbour found her when she went in to feed the cat
  16. Things do increase in price over the years! £3.99 isn't expensive for a dog toy!
  17. I've copied the rehoming template into your post. Please 'edit' and fill it in. This is the only way you're allowed to advertise animals for sale or rehome on this forum. Thank you.
  18. Tonight I was informed that a cat had been hit by a car on High Greave (near the dentist at the end of Colley Road.) Sadly the cat died. I went to collect and scan her but sadly she isn't chipped. If you think this may be your cat, she is with the PDSA Attercliffe. RIP beautiful girl This is S5/S35 area.
  19. A fawn coloured Greyhound/Lurcher type dog with Saluki like ears was running loose in Ecclesfield Park this evening. Despite many people's efforts, the dog couldn't be caught as he was terrified and kept running off. Sadly, not long ago the dog was involved in an RTA. He was taken to the PDSA but sadly he didn't make it. No microchip. If the owner is reading this, please know that he died in the arms of the lovely lady that found him and she was showering him with kisses as he passed. RIP beautiful boy X
  20. Hyper, what about the children that visit the ward? They may also walk through the park, get dirt on their shoes, touch things they shouldn't, sneeze everywhere. Maybe they even meet other children and exchange saliva. But nobody will bat an eyelid when children are on the ward touching and kissing relatives. And I can bet my dog is cleaner and carries less germs than your average child! Dog or snotty child.... I know which one I'd rather be kissed by!! Anyway, it's not regular dogs that visit hospital wards, they are therapy dogs. As I've already said, they are trained not to lick, jump up, give paw etc. And I'm sure they're perfectly clean. They will also have certain rules that need to be followed. They will all be up to date with their injections etc
  21. Fair enough. As I said before, nobody would try and make you interact with the dog. Just ignore it and it won't bother you. But just because you don't like dogs doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed on the ward. I can't stand children but it wouldn't be fair of me to expect other patients not to have children visit them if we were on a hospital ward together.
  22. I didn't even realise the Norfolk Arms in Grenoside had closed! When did that happen? As for the OP, I'm sorry I can't answer your question as I'm not quite sure what you're asking!
  23. Dogs that are used as therapy dogs are taught not to lick! They're also taught not to jump etc. They're usually very calm, placid dogs. Personally, if I was in hospital, I'd love for a therapy dog to visit. (I'd prefer my own dog obviously but she's a licker and a jumper!) Nobody says you have to stroke the dog so if you don't like it, just ignore it! As for needing a poo, dogs have ways of letting their owner know when they need to go and they're perfectly capable of holding it until they get outside! It's called being housetrained! I'm sure the dog brings happiness and comfort to lots of people. So yes, dogs should totally be allowed to visit hospitals. Children on the other hand....... Dirty, noisy, snotty little creatures! I know which I'd rather have around my hospital bed!!
