  5. anybody help.i have previosly owned a hyundai trajet of which at the stated time period i had the timing belts done by the main dealer, unfortunatley it was invoved in a crash and was a right off.since then i purchased another trajet on which the dealer insisted the timing belt had been done[this was a hyundai dealer at liverpool where i purchased the car.i have had the car now 15 months and the timing belt has gone.how does this leave me with the dealer, should he have to replace it as iwould have thought the warranty for the timing belt should be longer than fifteen month.ialso asked them for written proof that the work had been done but he stated that the work would be on the computer as it also had a full service before it left the hyundai garage
  6. hi planner1, just to refresh your memory from the other threads ive been addressing i quote an extract from the sheffield star on page 13 on thursday the 15th of april 2010 by Ben Spencer. I quote A free car-parking scheme in rotherham has been exstended to saturdays in a bid to attract more shoppers to the town centre.Council officers say a trial scheme offering free parking after 3pm on weekdays has been a success and have now opened up council owned car parks all day on Saturdays as well. The scheme will operate for at least 12 months and will include all on street parking bays.Rotherham council has worked with local strategic partner ship a body which also includes influential organisations including the chamber of commerce , emergency services and voluntary bodies , to organise the new arrangments.Partnership chairman Brian chapple said "A huge amount of effort has already been made to improve the offer , environment and accessibility of the town centre."Its great that , through the efforts of all partners , we are continuing this year to be able too offer yet more to our shoppers , encouraging them to come into town and take advantage of the great shops and places we have here" The council has also been trying to improve the number of independent businesses operating in the town centre. Business vitality grants are used to support small businesses setting up or expanding in the town and there have already been successes credited to the scheme. Another four new businesses are being offered grants this week and the council's town centre management team expects more to be offered.Free saturday parking arrangements in barnsley have already been hailed a success. NOW DO YOU GET MY DRIFT PLANNER1 AS I CANT SPELL IT OUT ANYMORE SIMPLER !!!
  7. hi paul, more to the point,at 2.75 per hour how can these car parks be more affordable, surely while the other cities ive mentioned are bringing in custom, sheffield seems to be driving it away, thats why ive asked the question how would you encourage people back into the town centre of sheffield?
  8. so,planner 1. could you give me,in your own opinion of course, how you would attract people back into sheffield city centre, what are the attractions ,as you seem to defend the city so well[oh and im not against sheffield]as ive lived here for 48 yrs.im just intrigued as what you think it has to offer now in 2010
  9. yes they have allowed the car parks but i dont see them very full.why?AGAIN THERE TWO EXPENSIVE.rotherham 1.40=3 hours,chesterield1.20 for 2hrsSHEFFIELDunder the old roxy nightclub2.75 for 1hr no, not much difference is there a return trip is considerably less on public transport if you live in rotherham or barnsley sheffield is no more difficult to navigate than similar sized cities.HA HA in your dreams and theanswer to question 5 is if you go in to the fish market and ask if trades booming i think you will find the answer is no,why? because of the reasons ive already stated
  10. hi once again planner 1 , well its about time we got down to the nitty gritty of this as were not singing from the same hymn sheet are we 1=sheffield council dont want cars in the city centre 2=they want us all to use public transport, which incidentally is a two way trip that costs an arm and a leg 3=the cost off parking in sheffield compared to other local citys is extorcionate 4=the main reason they want you to use public transport is because they dont want the beautifull roads congested which they cocked up 5yrs ago, also may i add it would be ea sier finding your way round spaghetti junction to someone who isnt familiar with sheffield 5=last but not least,do you honestly think that the new market is going to do well with the free parking at meadowhall, the retail park etc.Askk a true sheffielder what he or she thinks is1 wrong with the city centre and if one of the above isnt mentioned i will be amazed! I rest my case
  11. so dont you think that sheffield retailers are struggling too,to attract customers and charging extorsionate car parking fees isnt the answer.as for the mall car park this has to be a one off as i have quoted the majority of barnsley is a free car parking area at the weekends and the fruitfull flavour of that is bringing trade in to the town centre CHARGING EXCESS FEES FOR PARKING IN SHEFFIELD ISNT THE ANSWER.Iaccept the areas i have quoted have a large supply ofcouncil owned land, but until sheffield starts to adopt the same policy the new market what is being built on the moore will become a ghostown so to summerise this issue dont you think that sheffield should be going down this avenue and encourage people into the town centre with cheaper car parking or should the people of sheffield carry on with what they do now,ie=toddle of down the road to the retail park[free parking]or toddle just that wee mile further to meadowhall[free parking]and drive the custom away from the town centre? .hope ive made my point clear, because thats whats happening at the moment
