  1. Well! What a ill mannered lot you are, can't have discussion without insults. says a lot about you doesn't it. Wonder where you were brought up. I've just joined and hoped for some interesting conversations but obviously I was wrong.
  2. Hi Tony. I worked in the chemi lab from about 1966/67. were you there then?
  3. Hi, I used to go there all the time as I lived just up the road near Firth Park Grammer school, but we never paid as we used to climb up the tree that overlooked the ladies open air changing rooms and drop down, change, and take our clothes with us to the pool area. We then waited for an empty room to change back and hop it back up the tree, hoping that we weren't seen by the attendant. Only got caught once and promised to bring in the money next time. Never did though.
  4. The point I was trying to make, is that there are very few buses using this particular bus lane, so is is necessary. On the whole I agree with bus lanes, and they are usually well used. As for keeping your eye on the road and not the matrixes, why are they there if not to warn drivers of impending problems, and as you have a long wait here there's plenty of time to read it without any danger to other road users
  5. What is the point of Queen's Rd bus lane near the skating rink? I drive down there every day around 8.30am and can honestly say that you're lucky if you see a bus, but the other lane is chocca bloc. It can take ages to get through, and so some take a chance and drive down the bus lane, and I don't blame them, but now there are signs up that cameras are in operation so the drivers that used to go down the bus lane are now keeping in the car lane, hence, even longer time to get to work. Also how much did it cost to erect the matrix, it's only there to tell you when United are at home. More money well spent I don't think.
  6. Does anyone know where Pat Hall is today. She was my best friend at Hinde House school from 1958-1963 and I would love to find her. She used to live at 52 Vickers Road. I think that when she got married she went to live in York but not certain.
  7. If there was only one fan that ran on stage and grabbed Charlie Watts, then it was me. Although I was already onstage as there was seating back then and you only saw the artists from behind, but who cared we were very close to them. But on that occasion I must have been overwhelmed and ran down to grab one of the Stones, though I thought I got hold off Keith Richards. (The old memory may be going). I was hauled back to my seat by a steward and told to behave myself. Can you believe that happening now. I think that the Beatles concert was the first one to get rid of the onstage seating.
