  1. There are quite a number of 'Legal' definitions of child. 12 is not one of them but it is used by some. 10 is the age of criminal responsibility at which age a person can be tried as an adult. 16 is the age where a person can give consent, 18 is now the age of majority but try getting credit before you are 21. I believe that a person under 21 cannot be sued for debt unless the debt is accrued for necessities. (that I have to check)
  2. Not according to the web site it isn't.
  3. Not trying to be difficult here but the event is called 'Sheffield Pride' where does it say you have to be 'Gay' to be proud of our city? Our city has people of all races, religions, and sexual orientation, some of them just might even be proud of our city. If anyone were to suggest that only LGBT people were allowed to attend, that would be illegal and discriminatory. But no one has, have they. Just because it is (probably) organised by and for LGBT people primarialy dosen't make it exclusively a Gay event and nor should it be. They are a part of our community Gays contribute much more than some people realise to art music and culture among others and are rarely guilty of discriminating against non LGBT people so why do we discriminate against them, is it fear? If so fear of what? ... perhaps, ... no! ... it couldnt be. Could it...? Anyone can go and enjoy a pleasant safe day out in a park with friendly creative people. Oh and lets keep politics out, it is meant to be a party not a battle ground for the PC brigade.
  4. Are they going to flood it? Im a Queenslander and from Brisbane so its a joke OK.
  5. Personally I would listen to the advice from those who actually live there. By and large you will find that any area has its problems particularly when seen from the perspective of an outsider. The people living in an area KNOW the place and its people. Data extracted from statistics and newspaper accounts is skewed as they tend to show only the negative aspects. The VAST majority of residents in any area are good honest people who cause no problems to or for anyone and so don't get a mention in the aforesaid data. Those causing the problems get much more attention than they warrant and cast an area in a worse light than it deserves.
  6. It wouldn't be the first time or I suspect the last. But as for the statistics, that is exactly what they are 'statistics' and they tend to be manipulated to suit the required purpose at the time. Theft for example can range from 'shoplifting' to the embezelment of millions. Robbery aka theft with violence or the threat of violence, ranges from the kid at school forcing another kid to hand over their lunch money to an armed raid on a bank. Speeding is a criminal offence, as is showing a light of any colour other than white or amber on the front of a vehicle, a flashing red light on the rear of a pushbike is also a criminal offence. Or does crime mean an offence for which you can be arrested? If so please take note, you can be arrested even where no crime has been committed if you give a copper your name and address and he dosen't believe you, even if you have ID he can arrest you. There is no longer any such thing as an arrestable offence in law any more which does tend to pad out the stats a bit.
  7. Since when do signatures ever match perfectly? I need photos for my new passports fortunately the new photo specs for the biometric passports are virtually identical. (Aussie and UK)
  8. I used to answer I would love some business, but I'm allergic to penicillin.
  9. Upperthorpe used to be great, when it was a community inspite of the proximity of the Kelvin Flats, so did Lower Walkley but then the council in its wisdom decided to destroy local communities by demolishing the largely private homes and built the new ghettos.
  10. I Live in what is reputed to be a bad area. I have been here for 17 yrs without any problems. My Ex had a few problems a few yrs ago but I sorted it for her and the family were evicted. It's good being a lawyer
  11. there are a lot more than two of the little b******s aound there
  12. Yeah It would be hilarious ..... until the Po Lice prosecuted you for GBH
