  1. Thanks for your reply, I hadn't dared to put it in the drive because it looked so odd but I've just tried it and it worked! It made a really loud noise though! No idea why they've made it rectangular!
  2. This may sound stupid but I need help with how to use a CD-ROM that I've been sent. It's rectangular and much smaller than a normal CD so I've got no idea how to fit it into my computer. I'd be really grateful if anybody could tell me what I'm supposed to do with it!
  3. Does anybody know where I can get proper German bread from in Sheffield? It would make a very good christmas present for a homesick German friend!
  4. I'm afraid I have no advice for you regarding the tramp situation, being someone who always ends up sat listening to the nutter. But I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading that Actually maybe I do have a piece of advice - get a new job as a writer and then you won't have to encounter the guy again

  6. I'm living in France at the moment and I love it. The weather's so much better than in England which really affects what you can do, it's more civilised (no lager louts being lairy and starting fights) and in my experience the people are friendly (contrary to popular belief). I'm coming back to Sheffield soon and I've got mixed feelings about it. Although I'll be sad to leave, I'll be really happy to be around my friends and family again, it's surprising how well you have to speak a foreign language to be able to properly get to know people and make friends. I also miss British people in general, especially their sense of humour. Ideally I think I'd live in England but move it much further south!
  7. Hi Jillybabes, I'd be really interested to know more about the tablets. And also if there were stringy bits? How long do you have to keep the glass of water for? I get a lot of the symptoms you mentioned and I've just started a restricted diet to see if it makes a difference so i'll keep you posted. I hope the tablets help you feel better soon
  8. Bonjour Lotti!
  10. Blue - too smug and self-satisfied, Robbie Williams - same reasons, Franz Ferdinand - sounds like people rowing disguised as music, and how has nobody mentioned Cliff Richard yet? :gag:
  11. Sheffield uni have a financial support service for students. I think it's in university house which is between the octagon centre and the union. Hope that helps
  12. They did deep fried christmas puddings in Bakewell at christmas (surprisingly enough), never tried one though You're not supposed to put fish and chips in your mouth at the same time as the mars bar nick2 that's just asking for trouble
  13. I've had a deep fried mars bar You can get them from Bakewell fish and chip shop (or at least you could about 5 years ago). It was very sickly but strangely delicious. Think chips at the same time would be pushing it a bit too far though :gag:
  14. I think that's a great idea, I'd definitely be interested
