  1. Yes I know its not the most interesting of posts but I just hoped the kind person would read it and know how grateful I am. And its definitely worth a series of articles in the Star. Along with several photos of me looking at each item with a relieved look on my face and interiews with all my family and friends who nursed me through the ordeal and the joyful reunion.
  2. I loathe dress restrictions/codes and would never attend any venue which had them. Made my life a misery in the 80's when I was a rock chick in a leather jacket! How many crowds of brawling heavy metal fans have you ever seen on a night out??
  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever handed my shopping into M&S in the city centre on Friday after my stupidly leaving in on the seating outside. Everyone said I'd never see it again but I had faith in the kindness and honesty of the average Sheffielder and I was proved right!
  4. Well thats one pub I'll not be drinking in. Good on her for making a stand; it can't have been easy. No one should have to put up with sexist harrassment or any other kind of bullying.
  5. Excellent. Thanks for providing a play list to accompany the champers when she croaks.
  6. I am so getting an English flag to display prominently. My neighbour is a copper so I expect to be handcuffed and taken away within minutes, master criminal that I am!
  7. Yes, including my dad. Many Irishmen did. Face it, lots of English people have Irish blood and vice versa, as you would expect from 2 countries with such an intertwined history. Characterising the Irish as all being terrorists is ridiculous and extremely bigoted. To be honest I would absolutely love a big celebration of St George's day (and St Andrew's and St David's). I love a party!
  8. I have numerous times. Exceedingly annoying too. I resent having someone's personal beliefs rammed down my throat especially when I can't escape! I agree, however, that she may be a 'soft target' as far as deportation goes.
  9. Quite. I think the BBC is good value. I feel quite spolit by Radio 6 and BBC4.
  10. Not by me. What's the opposite of revered?
  11. Tom Waits. Leonard Cohen. Bob Dylan. Frank Zappa. Elton John (x10).
  12. Thanks Horrible - that would have gnawed at me all day!
  13. Sally Cinnamon by Stone Roses - kind of melancholy and sweet Second vote for Me and Bobby McGee What's that country song about someone jumping off the Tallahasse (??) bridge? I LOVE songs which tell a story!
  14. Bit before my time and I'm no spring chicken;). I must say whenever you read articles or see documentaries it's all about the mods; rockers are barely mentioned. Would anyone who was around at the time be able to tell me what music (genres/artists) the rockers were into? And how did they differ from teddyboys or did they kind of develop from teds (like goths mutated into emos)?
