No matter where you travel in Sheffield there are Amey barriers all over the place. There must be thousands across the city. Do they ever finish anything off? First someone comes to mark it out Weeks later the 3 man dig team arrive Then the team arrives to put the new post in Left a bit longer and a team comes to put the actual lamp top on Left a bit longer then the backfill team arrive Left again for the tarmac team They finally a team to remove thr old light It must take them at least 2 months to complete a renewal. Yes I know it will all be worth it in the end but it must be costing a massive chunk out of the budget to buy all the barriers and what happens to them when all the lights are in?

Looks like The Escape Bar is being done up. Anyone know anything about it or when is it due to open? Heard roughly about 3 weeks time but nothing much seems to be happening -
Noticed that myself in other areas. As you said poor workmanship and one bad winter and they will be as bad again

Can anyone explain the random resurfacing programme? Not long back they did part of High Green then disappeared for months now they are back doing a few more roads. They have renewed all the lights on Hallwood Rd at Burncross and Lound Side at Chapeltown then disappeared and they have just done Blackburn Drive but nowhere else on that estate is being done. Now don't get me wrong Blackburn Drive was appalling but roads such as Bevan Way and Chapel Road in the area are just as bad. Is there a programme or do you think it goes on the number of complaints received?

The scaffolding is back up again at The Waggon, fingers crossed it stops up longer than last time. Anyone heard anything else ie when its likely to open and if its still Wetherspoons ? -

Not sure if its the builders because any mention of The Waggon has gone off Wetherspoons site. The scaffolders have left it in a right state, holes in the roof slates all over the footpath. Its not watertight any more and soon will be beyond renovation and become a right eyesore. A great advert to anyone coming in from the outskirts. -

Things are looking up on the pub front in Chapeltown. The Royal Oak reopened on Friday and the scaffolding is up at the Waggon and the builders due to start. However heard that The Escape is now struggling which is not a surprise with the prices they charge. If they manage to survive they are going to have drop their prices to compete with Wetherspoons prices -
The Royal Oak was shut at the weekend, rumour is that it is in trouble for non payment of bills. What with the Wagon not looking like it will open again this is bad news for Chapeltown

CorkerSWFC..I and the club are firm believers in making football as enjoyable as possible.Yes their are hiccups along the way. If it was up to us no club would be allowed to trial for players before they move to 11 aside ,however the junleage do not believe in this and that is why we have ultra competive clubs with a win at all cost menality even at Under 8. Our club was set up over 25 years and has been run successfully with a no trials policy ,giving players of lesser abilty a chance to play and be part of a team. And yes i agree there are unruly parents and the league do their best to weed them out but on the whole the kids do enjoy it so please don't deny your child the chance to play because of the minority.
