  1. Hello... would like to ask if anyobe has any advice on how to get into this type of work... really interested in learning about them and how to use them. any advice would be helpful??
  2. Thank you, any advice is good. The reason you stated about time and cost of training is indeed very true. Good advice about the fast track courses but to be honest its not something I wouldn't entertain.
  3. I left school in 2008 and then went on to collage to study plumbing, gaining a EDI Level 1 National Award in Plumbing in my first year. I then went on to gain Level 2 Certificate in Basic Plumbing Studies in my second year. After completing my second year I was invited on to level 3 (Gas Fitting) but would need to take up a apprenticeship to do this as it was work based learning. As much effort as I put in to find a placement I was unsuccessful and had to leave that behind. Since the I have been working in a cash and carry (I started in my first year and fit it around collage) full time. I now feel as I'm wasted in doing something I firstly don’t enjoy but also believe I'm capable of doing better for myself. I am now looking to get back into plumbing and completed what I started and become a plumber. I believe because I have worked and understand how hard it is to get a job at the minute and appreciate any opportunity shown I would be a better candidate over a school leaver. I've already got a good amount of knowledge of plumbing so would be a quick learner for further education in the subject. If you have any opportunity available for me or have any advice it would be useful to me and I would appreciate it a lot.

  5. Would prefer to keep it as Im half way threw my first years insurance and cost be alot of money to pay up to now to just throw it all away and dont have the money to get another car. It Did'nt have a fuel cap when I got it just the cover itself. Did'nt even know it needed one. A neighbour said it had slipped, he's got abit of knowledge.... So he says, teeth look abit batterd to be honest. It slipped after the test, last week dad started it up and it just cut out straight away.
  6. Hello, had a few problems with my car and dont have the funds to scrap and get another. Failed its MOT on the following, Horn not loud enough to be heard by anther road user. Fuel cap missing. Nearside front track rod end ball joint has excessive play. Offside front track rod end ball joint has excessive play. Nearside front suspension track rod end ball joint has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint. Offside front suspension track rod end ball joint has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint. Fuel filter, fuel system component insercure. Brake load sesing valve linkage seized. parking break leaver has no reserve travel. Some of them are common sense (horn/fuel cap). Another problem thats has come up is the cam belt has slipped and wont start (so ive been told) and may have caused more damage in doing so. Would like to know if anyone has the recommend or if you can give a price or any tips? Car is a 306 meridean 1999 1.6 Thanks
