  1. I have got my laptop and I am highly delighted. I was already with AOL and to be honest I cant say that it is any worse than all the rest. As for the 2 year contract, i fyou consider £10 a monthe it is still a very cheap laptop. I pay £24.99 a month and get free landline phonecalls as well so if you break it up, it is a good deal
  2. I was in vile mood until I read this thread, Thank you Mo x x x x x
  3. I Also cast the bell on the Re-Commissioned "HMS SHEFFIELD" after the previous one was sunk during the Falklands war.Sadly he ship has been decommissioned since ( hope it wasnt because of the bell )
  4. I once put the chain back on David Blunketts bike ( yes THE David Blunkett ) when it had come off
  5. Tartan Mini Skirt white sleeveless turtle neck top White platform calf length boots and a BIG DAFT MEDALLION ,round my neck mmmmmmmm
  6. Yes Trev I used to "frequent" those pubs + Salutation, Gate, Hilltop, Tramcar,Golden Ball ( phew the list goes on ) but going back to Coleridge road school I think we were the only school to play all their football matches away, but Coleridge Road football team was a team that was feared by all the other schools, I later went to join the Youth club and spent many a happy hour there Playing Table Tennis snooker and they had a formidable five a side footbal team of which I was proud to play for .
  7. Hi Trevordnc. I spent most of my teenage years down Attercliffe, standing at the back of the 'Bendix' in the winter, where the steam pipes blew hot steam out and we would be chased off by old man Savage, the piano tuner who lived over his shop, when we got a little 'boistrous'
  8. Ivor Rothwell used to have a shop on Carbrook Street as well.In a distant way, alyjl our families crossed paths. Ask you parents if they remember Mrs Wallace who I believe lived next door ro the shop.
  9. All very Nostalgic and true I am a 50s kid but arent we the ones that have 'spawned' today's generation. Arent we the ones that wanted better for our kids, the ones that succumb to our kids wishes at Christmas, thinking that we dont want them to go through life like we did ? How many have took our kids to Toy's 'R' US and spent £40 + on a playstation game,or £90 + on a pair of ADIDAS NIKE, PUMA and the like, trainers. Dont we take our kids to Benidorm, Grand Canaria, Disneyland, instead of Cleethorpes and Skeggy. We all say ( classic, this one ) "We used to get the stick at school but it never did us any harm" but how many have actually gone and 'demanded' that discipline should be brought back into school ? Come on peeps lets get real, our kids are the product of US!! not society
  10. Can you remember the "Little Wonder " chipshop on Attercliffe Common ?
  11. went to Coleridge road school from 1963 till when it closed in 1965 I was in Fred Knowles class and POP Naylors. Harry Stribley was the headmaster. I played football, Cricket.Swam and ran cross country for them. Top School bar none
  12. I wonder if anyone remembers a sitcom that was the forerunner of the "Good Life" it was called " The Norman Conquests" It involved a 'hairsuit' little man always trying to seduce penelope keith. Also " The New Statesman " " Open all Hours" " Doctor in the House" "Young ones" All true classics
  13. Broughton Inn,Filesmith's,Lampool,Amberley, Salutation, gate,Hilltop,Tramcar,Golden ball,Greyhound,Travellers, Coach and Horses,Station,Kings Head,Queens Head,Horse and Jockey.Dog and Partridge. All the pubs ( from memory ) from Broughton Lane to Staniforth Road. Go on then I will add the Carlton. Not a bad night out eh ?
