  6. Is you're name Kevin and were you born around 1952 in Sheffield? did you have a holiday in Bridlington in the summer of 1961, maybe staying in North st. maybe with relatives as I don't think your parents were there but I might be wrong. My name is also Kevin I was on holiday with my sister Melinda her friend Moya and my parents, I don't remember much about the holiday but have a photo of us on the prom. If you read this get in touch and I'll email you the photo. I know its a longshot but its only 49 years ago. Kev.

  8. HI I'VE COME TO THIS SITE TO TRY AND FIND ANYTHING ABOUT THE FIRM IN THE TITLE. RIP BITS LTD. SHEFFIELD. I THINK THEY WERE INSTRUMENT MAKERS, THE ONLY THING THAT COMES UP ON AN INTERNET SEARCH IS A TRIP TO A IRON MINE IN SPAIN IN THE 1930'S I HAVE ONE OF THE INSTRUMENTS THEY MADE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IT WAS USED FOR. I'VE SHOWN IT TO FRIENDS AND WE THINK IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE IN THE 60'S GIVE OR TAKE 20 YEARS. ITS CONTAINED IN A WELL MADE BRASS CASE A BIT LARGER THAN A CIGARETTE PACKET THAT'S PAINTED GREY, INSIDE IS A PRESSURE GAUGE 0-100 LBS/SQ/IN OR 7 ATMOSPHERES. TO USE THE GAUGE YOU SCREW IN AN ADAPTER WHICH HAS A HYPODERMIC NEEDLE ON IT, THE NEEDLE IS 30mm LONG IN TOTAL BUT JUST LESS THAN HALF OF IT IS MUCH THICKER. THERE IS A BIT OF WIRE DOWN EACH NEEDLE ( 4 IN TOTAL ALL THE SAME) TO CLEAN/UNBLOCK THEM? THEN I SUPPOSE YOU STICK IT INTO WHATEVER YOU'RE TESTING AND READ THE PRESSURE? ITS NOT MEDICAL YOU WOULD EXPLODE AT THOSE PRESSURES, I THOUGHT OF CHAMPAGNE , THE RANGE IS RIGHT, 70-90 LBS, BUT THE NEEDLES NOT QUITE LONG ENOUGH. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT ITS USE IS? THANKS KEV. its now on ebay item no. 320490324001 (19th feb for 7 days)
