  1. Couldn’t agree more. As much as I admire the work our medical staff do, why should they be provided with parking?
  2. Lad I know does this, and living at Fox Hill if the OP drives he could be in Glossop in 40 minutes. Although lad I know doesn’t park at Glossop, he parks at the next stop after which I can’t remember the name.
  3. Must just be certain models then. Having said that my Snooper I use for work sets the time but it should for £300!!!! (It does have low bridges and weight limits as well as a built in dash cam )
  4. There it is in a nutshell. Most sat nav are reliant on the user having the date (I’m sure most don’t have the date set in) and time accurate, hence it isn’t feasible having a restriction such as the tram gate at Hillsborough programmed in. ---------- Post added 09-11-2017 at 16:56 ---------- If you use google maps (or maps on your smart phone) then it’s in effect a live programme. It will be as up to date as anything can be and as it’s using the internet it’s also time and date accurate. To use this however you need a 3G or 4g signal, not just gps. ---------- Post added 09-11-2017 at 16:58 ---------- I’ve had 3 tom Tom and on all of them the time is set by the user. There’s no date entered in there.
  5. I use one with live traffic, but I’m not sure it knows the date / day etc. That’s why with such as tram gates it can’t 100% be accurate. It should imo at least give you a warning that there is one approaching- like sometimes it’ll warn you there’s a toll.
  6. Google maps as it’s a live system knows the time and day. Sat nav doesn’t know what day it is and it’s up to the user to set the time, so as I said, can’t be expected to show when the tram gate is open or closed.
  7. I doubt any sat nav will take into account open / closed tram or bus gates that operate at different times of the day.
  8. How can a sat nav take into account a tram gate that isn’t 24 hour?
  9. Police concerned. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/girl-aged-8-reported-missing-in-sheffield-1-8844519
  10. Game in January moved for Sky TV That’s gonna be fun isn’t it???
  11. Suspended by the Labour Party. Maybe they are taking it seriously
  12. Exactly. Which is why professionals don’t.
  13. Depends where in Sheffield - prices vary. A lot of street parking is free after about 7:30 pm
  14. TFL says their licence won't be renewed at the end of September. Will Sheffield council do the same? Fairly damning reasons given RE customer safety.
  15. TFL (Transport for London) have just announced they will not renew Uber's licence in the capital when it expires at the end of September. Quite damning reasons too. The beginning of the end??
  16. I remember Masterchief before they opened the cafe next door. They were mainly a wholesale business selling curries / sundries to supermarkets etc. Then they started selling over the counter and the custom grew and grew. The guy with the glasses and curly hair in the back always looked busy....... Shame it's gone - will look out for the new place at KH
  17. For those interested - here's the video to the official song for the olympics, starring James Toseland and ChorusUK choir. The song is available to buy and all proceeds go to the Special Olympics charity. I think it's rather good
  18. It's a registered charity also - some very inspirational people taking part. The choir I sing with were asked to record the official song with the band Toseland (James Toseland, ex World Superbike Champ is from Sheffield). We also performed in the rain Tuesday night at the opening ceremony. So privileged to have been asked.
  19. I know for a fact that some waste paper is containerised and shipped oversea, mate of mine worked on containers and did this regularly
