  1. Plenty of hotels within a few minutes of the peace gardens. The Mercure St Paul's hotel is next to the peace gardens. There is also the Novotel, Jury's Inn, Leopold Hotel, Premier Inn, Travelodge all within a very short walk of he peace gardens. Even the Holiday Inn, Hilton and Park Inn are within 10 minutes walk.
  2. While the OP did the correct thing in handing it in. It is highly likely that the phone would be linked to a iTunes account, so handing it into the apple store isn't as daft as a suggestion as kinetic is ranting about. Samsung - South Korea, bit dramatic isn't it. The poster didn't suggest that the OP should make a journey to Cupertino.
  3. Well his KBE is listed as been for services to sport. Make of that what you will.
  4. I would say the MBE and KBE are linked to his sporting achievements, not sure about the other 2.
  5. At least they painted one in the correct city and not in Rotherham or Barnsley. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19137832
  6. CNN are reporting 6 dead, NBC and BBC News are reporting 7 dead. I think at this early stage there is usually a lot of confusion about exact details on numbers.
  7. Reports are now saying lone gunman and 7 dead.
  8. Breaking News http://edition.cnn.com/2012/08/05/us/wisconsin-temple-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
  9. I think this is how this whole episode happened, young boy travelling during the school holidays when it highly likely lots of family's would be travelling, easy to mingle in with other family's. I'm guessing if he did mingle in with other family's with kids it would be possible to proceed through the screening area and gate area without personally having to show a boarding pass or passport yourself. Staff could be easily be forgiven for thinking he was travelling with someone else and presume the grown ups had his passport or boarding pass.
  10. With regards to the football, I think the problem is that too bigger stadiums are been used. Would be better to have a fuller smaller stadium than a 1/2 empty large one. Honduras vs Morocco today at Hampden Park today, hope I'm proved wrong but I can't see that been a full house. I think the only stadium choice they got right was the Coventry city ground at 30k, everything else just looks too big.
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-18979032 While not a security issue and the aircraft was in no more danger than if he had not managed to board the plane. The boy did get screened by security before been allowed to to go airside at Manchester Airport. But the boy should have been picked up way before getting anywhere close to stepping on the aeroplane. I can think of at least 3 check points where either a boarding pass and or passport needs to be show. 1 - At security, 2 - At the departure gate, 3 - At the door of the aircraft.
  12. Yes the Olympic Games have already started. The football uaually starts a day or 2 before everything else. The first day when a actual medal can be won will be saturday when the mens cycling road race takes place.
  13. A million more nutters who have easy access to guns.
  14. Harrison's on London Rd , costs £40 if I remember right. Of course you could try the DIY method but at your own risk. Although as people have said, your not actually cleaning the cameras sensor as it has a very thin piece of glass in front of it and it's this piece of glass that you will be cleaning. You don't actually touch the sensor itself.
  15. I was at St Pancras on Saturday, the que for the Eurostar was massive and this is people leaving the UK. Next month will still be the school holidays, I personally wouldn't turn up 30 minutes before departure during the busy school summer holiday period. I'd say an hour to 90 minutes to be on the safe side.
  16. News - Newly received or noteworthy information, esp. about recent or important events. So yes Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France clearly fits into the above. I'm sure if England had won Euro 2012 or Andy Murray had won Wimbledon, those sporting events would have been the top stories of the day. People shouldn't be asking is a sports result news, it clearly is. Should it be the headline item on the news. I guess that all depends on what else is happening in the world on that day.
  17. Where there's a blame, there's a claim. Although I think you need to give us a few more details on your reasons why you want to sue.
  18. While i think Manchester Airport is open 24/7, i have a sneeky feeling the airport does shut down to departing passengers during the night, usually after the last scheduled departure of the day, ie you wont be able to go airside. Im sure you can hang around landside but im not sure id fancy doing it myself. The last time i went thru terminal 1 i had a 7am flight but security didn't open untill about 4.30 - 5am. Another issue would be if you have to check in any luggage, presuming your airline has staff still working at 10pm, they may not accept your luggage that far in advance. So yes, you should be fine to turn up at 10pm just don't expect to be able to access the airside part of the airport.
  19. While Family Guy might not contribute directly in anyway with The Sun, they both are part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation empire.
  20. Hoping some of you anti Murdoch people are boycotting all products linked to the News Corp Empire. The Sun Newspaper to that Die Hard DVD boxset and everything else inbetween. So no watching the next episode of Family Guy.
  21. Yes because there where never any armed robberies during the time when Labour where running things.
  22. So how do wheelchair users manage when they go into the City Centre.
  23. No it's not, it's like most food and drink related things, you can get it cheaper from Tescos and eat or drink at home. Last time I went out for a curry with some friends, it would have been far far cheaper to pop to the supermarket and purchase a £2.50 microwave curry meal. There's no premium to pay to say look I've been to Costa, there's nothing fancy about Costa or any of the other chain coffee shops. Go to the pub for a drink, again cheaper to pop to Tescos and buy in a 6 pack. No premium to say oh look at me I've been to the local for a few beers.
  24. Why is it a yawn, OP wants advice on the FZ45, they are far more likely to get the info they need on the review sites than the off chance someone on here owns one.
