I hunted about for ages trying to find a screen printing or ceramics course in shef. Just a little part time evening or weekend course and couldnt find a thing! Everything seems to start in September and last for at least 4 months. The colleges seems to be networked up - which may be good in some respects but means that varity of courses isn't around. Do let me know how you get on as I would be really interested to see if you find anything.

Would anyone happen to have a copy of it which I might be able to borrow? Any format? Would be happy to pop round and pick up. Got to see it in the flesh but would like to see the TV version. Thanks

I think the Ice Skating idea's a real winner, it's bound to be fun/ funny, he gets to hold her hand, they can help each other up, that kind of thing. Maybe followed by going for a pizza, etc, the kind of meal thats not too 'romantic'.

Other suggestions... how about a drive (if he's got a car) over to Cleethorpes, I've have many a good day playing on the slotties and the crazy golf, they could grab some fish and chips and sit in the car as the rain pelts down, or there's a great indian towards the lesure centre. Think some kind of amusment park would be good fun, bumpercars, candy floss.. much fun! I'm 30 and just going on the kind of thing I'd like so hope it helps!

So how do fellow 'forumers' recognise each other? Is there a wee section cornered off for the 'meet' or does everyone turn up with a daffadill in their lapel? The idea of being stood on me tod asking around is a bit frightening.

So thats tomorrow night right? Think that sounds like a good idea, no work to recover for. Is the Devonshire Cat in town?

Hi beansforyou!

OK I hate the dentist and hadnt been for about 10 years, I knew there was something pretty horrid going on in my mouth so eventually made myself join one. And I'm pleased to say its been completely different from my previous experiences. I would really recomend The Porta Brook dental centre (near Waitros on the Sharrow side of Sheff) dont know if this is near you? They take NHS clients, seem to have lots of female dentists and staff (which I think is good, as its pretty weird having someone you dont know that close to your face!) They explain exactly what they're doing and monitor the pain, they keep checking to see if you need more anisthetic, and they tell you were you may have been going wrong in the first place!
Â
I promise I dont work for them! But its been good to discover there are some nice dentists out there! Maybe if my last one hadnt found drilling my fillings out so hilarious I wouldnt have had this problem!

Yeah I think I'd be up for the meet - when's the next one?

I'd love to do a bit of 'Rent a Dog'! (no wise cracks). We go out walking quiet a bit and would love to borrow your dogs! We'd have our own if that landlady was up for it.

As for activity suggestions - what about the theatre? Isn't Shff meant to be ace for that? Or go see a band, bingo, poker night in??

Hey Charlie,
I know what you mean! I've just got back from Australia and am living with my fella and although his friends are all very nice it would be great to meet some new peeps and preferably some ladies! Meet idea sounds good.. think I'd have to have a few glasses of something to get me nerve up tho!

Hullo, Now this might sound a bit stupid, but would you have to be a 'knitter' to start with? or could I just some along and learn? Sounds like a great idea and I would love to have a bash! I'm pretty new to Sheff and live in a house of boys and this sounds like a great idea to get out and meet some ladies!

Sounds good - could settle in early to avoid the crush.

Is the dog and Partridge that spenny poncey wine bar on Trippets Lane or is this some fetching little boozer?

Anyone know of anything good happening on Thursday? Preferably an Irish band and a bit of a knees up. Either in the city or out towards Netheredge?
-
Anyone know if there's a regular farmers market in sheff, or even a shop that sells organic fruit and veg that doesnt cost a fortune?

I'm looking for a part time or evening clay / ceramics / pottery course in sheffield. I only seem to be able to find Foundation courses, that run for a year, when all I really want is to take a few weekend or evening classes to learn the basics. Any ideas?
Where can I take my Brother at the weekend??

I have a bit of a entertainment problem.

My 33 year old brother is coming to visit me this weekend. We havent really seen much of each other in the last few years so I'd like to show him a good time. But not being from Sheffield myself (only been here for a couple of months) I'm not too sure where to start.

He's dead keen on music, but not really a clubber, more live bands, especially garage (that's 60/70s psyc garage) or rockabilly or maybe country at a push. Basically anything thats a bit interesting and different. He works as a scientist so doesnt meet many gals so I'd quiet like to take him somewhere where he's at least in the remote vacinity of some ladies. Anywhere near Netheredge or town would be good? Also any ideas for the day would be appreciated, good pub for a Sunday dinner etc??

Thanks a million!!
