We now have a new socialising group up and running on Facebook for the people of Sheffield (and surrounding areas). We already have over 50 members in just over 24 hours!! The group is for anyone wishing to expand their social circle and make new friends.. Maybe theres an event you would like to go to and you have no one to go with? Or maybe you're new to the area? Hi there, I have just set up a group on Facebook for people looking to arrange meetings, meet new people and that sort of thing. I have found myself in the same boat as quite a few people on this thread with school friends moving away, settling down etc. I have looked into a few groups and societies in Sheffield, most of which charge to become a member. I therefore decided to set up a free group on facebook... The group is open for anyone to join (as long as you have a facebook login) and post in. It is BRAND NEW so there is only a few people on there at this time but my aim is to get as many people as possible interested and create a thriving group where we arrange regualar trips out. The Mangla on Spital Hill have a wide range of different dishes and will cook them to suit you so if you fancy something a bit different I'm sure they'd be able to accommodate you. Its my favourite and I have never been disappointed yet. Great value for money too.

I went a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and I wish I hadn't bothered. Not a patch on what it used to be and you'd struggle to point out anyone over the age of 25.

I would definitely be up for that. Most of my friends have either moved away or have settled down with kids etc.. So I'm looking for pretty much the same sort of thing. Would like to do something fun in my spare time and would like to meet new people along the way

Yeah...Well there were members of the crowd shouting out to throw water on them but there was an extremely pushy bloke, don't know if he was security or something insisting the crowd stay out of it wait till the police turn up... either way, the situation ended with thankfully both dogs seemingly ok... I think the best thing to come out of this is a lesson learned... And hopefully if anyone from the large crowd of people witness a dog fight again they will know what to do.

I was stood at a nearby stall when this happened and to be honest there wasn't much anyone could have done about it. The person who was stuck in the shop was stuck there as the crowd that gathered was enormous and in the circumstances they did the best thing by calling the police. Both owners held the dogs down on the ground to prevent further injury and when the police arrived they managed to seperate them by dousing them in water. Both dogs seemed pretty much ok once seperated and the crowd clapped as everyone was relieved that they were both ok. I think moral of the story is to keep your dog on a lead, especially in the City Centre and if it does'nt take well to other dogs, or people for that matter, keep them muzzled.

Think they stay there, do you want to come with me? I could meet you before if you like and we could go together?

hi, was jus wondering if anybody could enlighten me as to whether it is possible to still claim full housing benefit if you are working under 16 hours?? Or does it decrease with how much you earn??
