  1. Hello! I've been recently thinking I would like to take up a sport to help improve my fitness and as something to enjoy. I played hockey in school but that will have been over ten years ago now so I'm basically a beginner. Any tips as to how I would get into the sport? I wouldn't be able to go straight on to a team cos I'll be rubbish so I don't know how to go about it! Any pointers? Thanks, in advance,
  2. Firstly, we are: 2 ridiculous laydeez, 24 & 25, one singer/guitarist and one drummer. We're looking for a bassist, preferably someone who wants to share vocals. So far we've just been jamming but looking to actually knuckle down and start writing our own stuff and get crazy. Influences are Indie/Alternative; Tegan & Sara; Metric; Now, Now; M83; Passion Pit; Joan Jett; PJ Harvey; The Postal Service; Louis XIV... To name but a few. Chemistry is really important to us, so if you're reading the above list and feeling excited, get in touch and we'll go for a jam/drink and see how it goes. We've not really considered ourselves a band thus far, so we'd all be involved in shaping the band, both musically and otherwise. We're city centre/Eccy Road based. Message me (Rachel) here or text: 07715 392 535.
  3. Are you still looking for someone? Do let me know, I think you may have found your lady!
  4. Anyone else seen it? I went to see it tonight and personally loved it, Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven have not lost their touch! I suppose you have to be a fan of the trilogy to enjoy it, but it still remains completely superior to most trashy horror films released now, and the balance between horror and comedy is perfect as always! Any other thoughts?
  5. Does anyone know a women's lacrosse team in sheffield? I've never played before so a team that is casual or doesn't mind teaching beginners?
  6. £3000 per year tuition fees £3000 per year maintenance loan x 3 year course £18,000 I take it from your poor maths skills you have never been to uni, and that is why you have never been in that much debt.
  7. This is absolutely disgraceful. And threatening to break your legs is assault, so you should get the police involved.
  8. People with no morals? Lol. I would hardly describe people who park their car in areas they shouldn't morally bankrupt. The people who are lacking in morality are the d**ks that buy up this land to try and squeeze as much money out of people as possible. Cos God forbid anything in this world is free and someone can't be making money out of anything. Capitalism gone crazy.
  9. Lol a hard boiled egg is always their treat, it's absolute egg carnage when they've finished! Ones a rex too, he's got curly whiskers and he comes and looks at me at the end with egg stuck all over his face like "what?" They also devoured an entire creme egg one time, I think they may have got confused, I was really worried after because they're not supposed to eat chocolate, but it didn't seem to bother them, I suppose if they can work their way through an entire pair of trousers! They can be very cheeky but that's why we love them!
  10. They had been doing it before then, but only slightly, it's only since I moved here the patches have become actually noticeable! Thanks you've given me some good ideas, I'm off to have a mooch round for some things they might like... Can they eat any kind of nuts or are there any I should avoid? The egg box is a good idea because my do they like chewing things, better cardboard than my furniture!
  11. I'm pretty sure it's barbering, I've seen them doing it to each other, and the patches where the fur is missing look completely healthy, just a bit bald! They still have the same cage that I first bought for them, I'm looking to get another one because they need more space, at the moment I'm just letting them have free run of my flat during the day so they don't get too bored! I've been looking online for some good cages but money is non existent for me at the minute so I'm looking end of September before they can get a new one... I have recently moved house so this flat is a new environment for them, do you think that could be part of it? What other things could I do to keep them stimulated?
  12. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I've had my 2 boys coming up to a year now, and I have had a problem with them barbering each other (at least I think that's what it's called). They've always done it a bit, but it has gotten really bad and they both have completely bald patches behind their ears and around that area, one more so than the other from the alpha! They don't seem to be hurting each other, never drawing blood and they don't look distressed, but should this behaviour still be discouraged? Any tips on how I can do this? I don't want to have to separate them cos it's just the two of them... Any suggestions? Thanks
  13. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had a (preferably quiet) small horse or large pony they would be willing for me to hack out or do light work with at weekends. I recently had to sell my pony as I've started university in Sheffield, so I don't have anywhere to ride and all the centres around here look really expensive. I have been riding for a number of years but haven't ridden for the past two years due to being at uni, only on and off, so a quiet, calm horse would be ideal. I don't drive and live down ecclesall road so it would be preferably somewhere that I could get to by public transport. I am confident to hack alone or in company, whatever is best for you! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  14. Mmm lychees... treat for me, treat for rats. I'm going shopping today so i think they are going to be very spoilt when i get back!
