  1. my car has died so i won't be able there tonight.
  2. fruiting tree - previous years it has apparently done very well and whilst it has cherries on it there are a distinct lack of leaves
  3. We have two cherry trees in the garden and one of them has lost the majority of it's leaves. any ideas why?

  5. there are a couple of pairs of scissors for cutting wavey lines etc an embossing set but that depends on the age of the child some x stitch threads?

  7. I know they do classes but i just wondered whether they held any just social crafting groups at all - just sort of drop in sessions? I'm relatively new to the area and struggling to meet similarly craft minded people. Thanks
  8. hi - so i'd really like us to try and get this up and running. any ideas on venue and the best day/time/frequency for people? also suggestions on how people would like this to work would be great -e.g. themed evenings for particular crafts or free for all etc thanks!

  10. yeah it is. i've sort of managed to make it work but only on extremely lightweight fabric (almost see through!).
  11. it's the thread itself that is elastic? I'm not sewing a band of elastic on - so no i'm not stretching it but the machine is presumably doing something of that sort?
  12. yeah a dress and some matching bloomers for my neice - i've managed to make the trial pair work but i think because the fabric i am using now is a heavier weight its just not gathering like it should in tha tits not gathering at all...

  14. i know this is technically for the knitting group but i also know you are a multi talented bunch so thought someone might be able to help me. I need some assistance learning how to sew with elasticated thread - i'm trying to make a dress and things and no matter what i do its just not working! any help much appreciated.

  17. could you do something like this http://www.planetjune.com/blog/free-crochet-patterns/basic-rose/ but make it more squared like the one in your picture? we also think that a lighter more satin like yarn would probably change the overall effect to make it more delicate like the ones in your picture... don't know if that is any help.

  19. i know what you mean - only group accepting people that i've managed to find is a knitting group in millhouses. Its great but I do lots more crafts so a more general crafting group would be great

  23. I've been really looking forward to coming to the group but this weather is making it difficult. i managed to get the car stuck out in the snow today so I guess I'll be waiting until the next meet.
