  1. Thanks Viney, i know youre right. It was just the 'sexy' thing that threw me, especially as he still looks away when Homer and Marge kiss on the Simpsons (although maybe thats for my benefit lol). Its hard to know what to do when its your first.

    It doesn't get any easier when it's your third.:(

    Let him enjoy himself, he'll be fine. :thumbsup:

  2. Hi all,

    Does anyones kids go to the Freedom club nights?

    My son is 13 soon and Ive told him he'll be allowed to go as my friends daughter goes and theyve always said the security etc is excellent.

    However, Ive had an email newsletter from Freedom and one of the things advertised for the next event is 'Sexy devil dancers'. I just wondered if anyone else thinks this sounds slightly inappropriate for an only-just-13 year old. After all theres an awful lot of difference between a 17 year old and a 13 year old.

    Im probably being over-protective but if anyone elses kids go Id appreciate their feedback.

    Thanks :help::help:

    It's a tough choice nikki. I have three teenagers myself. I had to bight the bullet and let them go to these nights against my better judgement. I decided that anything that goes on in these places is no different to anything that goes on in school or when they are out with their mates in general, but with added security. It's best to trust your son, you will gain much more respect from him than if you were to hold him back.

  3. The lorry belonged to a well known Sheffield company. The driver hit the parked car. The driver's mate got out to to check the damage (smashed wing mirror and nasty scrape down o/s wing). Driver's mate looked to see if anyone had seen the collision, decided that they were in the clear, got back in the lorry, and they drove off.

    Driver's mate was wrong. My team and I saw the whole thing from above street level where we are installing a dormer window! I did the right thing and gave the details of the lorry to the car owner.

    Why don't people like this just come clean? how would they react if the same thing had happened to their car? Would you have driven off, or held your hand up?

  4. I managed to get myself and my staff to work safely today by using my experience of driving in snow and ice. I am pleased to say that I didn't see as many bad drivers en route. I can't say that this is solely down to this thread, but I would like to think that I have made a difference. Thanks to all of you that have taken my advice. Keep it up guys, it will soon be Spring. :thumbsup:

  5. i have read the thread and yes i probably did go a bit over the top , but the underlying current that rears its ugly head on here time and time again is the snobbishness that is the SF, it makes me sick, no i'm no chav, no i'm not a council tenant, yes i have my own small business and bmw, etc etc etc, i feel sheffield is not for sheffielders any more, i'd like a poll actually to see where people on SF hail from originally, cos some threads on here cannot be from true sheffielders, well not as i know them anyway and i've been here 40 out of 40 years, and now i'm ready for the sarcastic clever comments, bring it !:suspect:

    Stay cool fella. :thumbsup:

  6. Didn't you start this thread by saying that there was a divide?

    Then when people try to explain it being down to the people who live in the area you argue against that.

    What do you think is the cause of the difference?

    I argue against people labelling all people because of the area they live in. Surely anyone with a modicum of intelligence realises that not all people that live in a bad area are bad, and vice versa.
