  1. Could you let me know if it still there tomorrow, please?
  2. Hi Where abouts was the bell located on the bird? I have a friend who lost a Harris Hawk a few weeks ago in Eckington. Do you have a photo at all?
  3. I was just searching for an old thread, when I came across this and realised what a reaction there had been to the news about Richie leaving. Rich is my brother, and if anybody is interested in checking out what he's up to these days, then get yourself to Remo's at Broomhill. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/food-review-remo-s-259-fulwood-road-broomhill-sheffield-s10-3bd-no-telephone-number-open-mon-sat-8-30am-6pm-1-6322917
  4. Hi All Could anybody please put us in touch with somebody that can fix a faulty fire alarm? It's already gone off 9 times tonight, it's deafening, and we have 2 young girls trying to sleep. Thanks Charlie
  5. The pavement around the area in question is currently 'no parking' to allow for access to the car park. If the car park was replaced by the seating area, then this would free up on-street parking space for around 6 cars. Seeing as the car park only holds 12 cars anyway, would an extra 6 cars using the current on-street parking (at the pubs busiest times, I have rarely seen the car park full) make that much difference?
  6. After accidentally pressurising a small piece of grated cheddar cheese between my buttocks and office chair this lunch, into what appears to be a shard of indestructible composite material, my mind began to wonder. Is a cheese plane the most plausible food/transport combination? I have since been persuaded otherwise, as it was pointed out that cheese has a tendency to melt at high temperatures. We’re now thinking that pasta may be the better option, using lasagne sheets for wings and cannelloni tubes for the fuselage, durable but lightweight. Does anybody else have any sensible suggestions? Or are there any people out there with more aerospace engineering experience, that can give any reason as to why pasta is not a feasible material?
  7. The Downstream will be headlining tonight at Tune Inn @ Royal Standard, St Mary's Road, Sheffield http://www.myspace.com/the_downstream
  8. Hi Sparkleyes Just been sorted today that they're actually going to be playing two gigs at the Tramlines Festival before the gig at The Royal Standard. Dates and venues are to be confirmed but I'll put the details on MySpace and facebook when I know it so I'm not bumping this thread up all the time. Cheers Charlie
  9. Glad you enjoyed it, especially for a first gig. The band now have four more gigs coming up, and I'll put more detail on MySpace later (address above). But the next gig they're playing is Fri July 27th at The Royal Standard on St Mary's Road
  10. Also playing on the same line-up this Wednesday night are Soutchcliffe and The Superlatives. The Downstream are going on second out of the three, so will probably be on some time around 9.00
  11. Hi all As said above, a new Sheffield band called The Downstream are playing their first ever gig a week on Wednesday (13th June), at The Viper Rooms on Carver Street. Entry is free and there are three live bands playing on the night. The Mod For It club night follows the gig, downstairs (that isn't free). There are two demo tracks by The Downstream available for you to listen to, at the moment at http://www.myspace.com/The_Downstream Hope to see some of you next week
  12. The Downstream are a newly formed Sheffield band who are currently on the lookout for an accomplished kayboard/organ player. Influences include: Ocean Colour Scene Paul Weller The Verve The Beatles The Who Oasis The Jam The Kinks George Harrison The La's Beady Eye Image/appearance associated with the above is 'desirable'. If interested please contact us at [email protected]
  13. Thanks Tom, hadn't realises that. I've started a new thread on there, hopefully have some success
